Great food. Great portions but staff is not attentive to you until you get up and go talk to them. They forgot a dish and didn't deliver it until I approached them. The only time they come to your table is to give you menus and take your order. You will also need to go to them to pay.

My go to place when I want yo have beef chow fan. This restaurant serve Hongkong style dishes. It is conveniently located next to grocery store. The restaurant is not that large but has plenty tables and if I am not mistaken almost have private room. It used to be very busy restaurant in the past.
I used to visit this restaurant very often in the past. In past couple years I only order to go and interestingly only beef chow fan. I like the way they cook it. I have try beef chow fan at many restaurant and this is one of my favorite. I also like their bbw pork and porridge. One thing I really want to try next is the salt and pepper porkchop. Looks like one of the popular dish.

I *love* this place. It was so good and the service was wonderful. The XO rice rolls were divine, we also had greens and the pork chop in tomato sauce. I enjoyed every bite.

Pork chop was fried way too long, dry and thin.
The tofu again was fried too long, and felt nice sitting there for days. Fish was ok.

This was my second visit for a late lunch. The food was okay, but nothing particularly memorable. Due to a miscommunication with the server, an extra dish was brought out. I didn’t want to make a fuss, so I just accepted it.
What surprised me most was the bill — they added an 18% service fee based on the total including tax. I didn’t expect a preset tip at a small neighborhood restaurant, especially when no one checked in on my table or asked how the meal was. Quite disappointing overall.

Very good food, nice for daily dining (家常菜). Ordered Pork Feet and fried rice, requested to add less salt and both dishes are exactly to my taste. Roast duck is average. Will come again and explore more options

Food and selection is good
I last had a meal at Tai Wu about 12-13 years ago. The quality of food hasn’t changed, and has been maintained at a good standard. I hope they will stay open as long as possible as I no longer reside in the Bay Area.
I've been a regular Take-Out customer for over 10 years. would always order the same Rock-Cod Claypot and always taste great. Weekend of 04/27/2025, I've made an extra order of the Sweet & Sour Chicken. The picture posted at the entrance window looked very appetizing. When I got home which is about 5 mins away, it looked totally different from the picture. A couple of small pieces of green pepper, but the sad part was the chicken was very soggy and the chicken tasted bland and soaked in some liquid and rubbery texture. It was bad. If the chicken tasted bland then it would not be the sauce. It tasted like someone order this a day ago and was just put aside. I love this place due to great customer service but I was very disappointed for what how they disrespected a regular customer for over 10 years. I called after I tasted it and they said that the next time I order I should request for the sauce to be put aside. NO. I want the sauce with the chicken so the chicken would taste like sweet and sour! Come on people. Value your customer especially regular customer.
Not sure about all dishes, but the Baked Porkchop rice is awesome! Big portion, lots of sauce over well executed egg fried rice. Wow.
