Food was good. However, the prices are extremely high for what you get. Four small pieces of beef kabob, little salad, bread and lots of rice is what one gets for OVER $20.
I heard from few folks that this place has the best Afghani food so i was in the area and stopped by to give it a shot.
I ordered the following and also rating next to it
Qabuli Pulao with Lamb shank - 7 out of 10
Chapli plate - 7 out of 10
Chicken Kabab plate 8 out of 10
Mantu - 5 out of 10
Potato Bolani - 7 out of 10
Restaurant was very clean and specially the bathroom which was outside the restaurant. Will i go back? not sure as the food was ok and there are other good options available in the area.
Expensive food, 23 dollar, for not so good chapli. Felt it soggy. Quantity was good
First the owner is very kind and friendly and accommodating. Second the food is tasty and juicy. The chicken was very tender, the bolani was perfect. And the firni is really good and I don't even like firni- it wasn't too sweet and the rose taste was surprisingly good.
Best afghan food. Easy. Come for the food - engage in a conversation with the owners. They are great human beings.
The food was delicious and filled with rich flavor. The owner was friendly and kind. Will come back.
Amazing halal Afghan food- authentic and delicious 🤤

I don’t review places often. This one is worth sharing about.
-Potato Bolani
-Qabuli Palow
-Mantoo 10 piece
(If you really like beef, the Chapali kabob also looked mouthwatering from a distance)
Consider a Potato Bolani to go. Trust me.
The food is very, VERY good, but what makes this place particularly special is the love that is clearly put into each dish. Just pop your head into the kitchen window and the food prep is right there. The chef is in her zone.
The family story of how this place was birthed and survived is a good plot for a Hollywood movie.
Afghan Awasana Kabob House is filled with Barakah. Go fill your cup.

Food was amazing, probably the best Afghan food I ever had. Portions are good, you will not be disappointed. They are HFSAA certified. Owner was so nice and welcoming. He gave us bolani to try on the house and when we told him we were visiting he even gave us fresh Afghan naan to take with us.

I wanted to try different restaurant for Afghan food as I always go to Fremont Afghan on Mowry.
Although service & environment are good and very friendly staff but they still need to improve on their food quality to beat competition in the area. I ordered chicken kabab: chatni is not as tasteful, food size is on smaller side (I think all afghan restaurants in the area have reduced size of their entry), and Kababs are average. The pricing isn’t cheap either as compare to other afghan restaurants in the area.
Therefore, OK to try, you’ll not be disappointed but doesn’t beat the quality, size, & price of its competitors in the area.

I catered food for my husbands 40th bday party for a group of 50. I ordered Qabuli w/ chicken, chalau (white rice), murgh korma w/ aloo bukara, shami kabab, and mantu-the salad and naan came free with my order. My guests were a mix of Afghans and Punjabi-everyone loved the food, I even received texts the next day about how good the food was (shoutout to Wajma jaan!) I decided to try dine-in with my family of 8 this weekend. The food was absolutely delicious, their kabab puts De Afghanan to shame, who have adjusted their food for a Pakistani/Desi palate…Afghan Awsana keeps true to Afghan cuisine and is exactly how authentic Afghan food should taste. Service was excellent and Afghan hospitality is always on display! Only thing that will come with time, is a larger dining area and system of taking orders at the tables and not at the register. The hijabi girl at the register was a doll and so polite, we all really loved the food and our overall experience. Wishing this business the best of luck in all their future endeavors!
