Inconsistent food quality. Telephonic Order was taken incorrectly and was asked to wait for 30 mins after arriving for pick up. Low staffed.

Went for dine-in with family on Saturday night….wasn’t very busy.Greeted by the lady at the desk, who was very nice and served us well. The food was cooked well (roti, potstickers, Kee Mao, Basil Fried Rice) and the fresh coconut wasn’t bad either. Overall, a very good experience

After 2 hours of shopping at Costco and Total Wine at the Pacific Commons shopping center, my friend introduced me to this Thai restaurant nearby called Bahn Thai restaurant. Thai food always agrees with me, plus lunch time is always a good time. We arrived here around 1:30pm on Christmas Eve 2021. Apparently, we avoided the lunch crowd and the restaurant itself was virtually empty. We were greeted casually and got an empty table against the wall. Being that it was a quiet venue for me, I enjoyed the ambiance since arriving in San Jose and a whirlwind shopping trip and just took a breather for lunch. The restaurant itself is cute, small, and decorated as I expected it to be. It's comparable to Hawaii but with California charms. I eventually ordered the volcano beef, which my friend said that's the same dish that her son orders every time they come here. Maybe I forgot to ask for rice, since I just ordered the volcano beef ala carte. The volcano beef wasn't as spicy as I thought, although the server didn't ask how spicy did I want it to be. Oh well. I also ordered a plate of deep fried spring rolls, while my friend ordered a couple of vegetarian dishes, which looked delicious. Thai cuisine always has delicious vegetarian options, as well as meat versions as well. The overall experience here at Bahn Thai Thai restaurant was nice, quiet, and therapeutic. It was nice to just decompress after flying in and doing shopping. The service was friendly and cordial. I was glad that they were open on Christmas Eve, so I could have sample their offerings. The restaurant itself was very clean and the ambiance felt like being at home in Honolulu, since it was that kind of ambiance I'm used to. The prices here were about the same as I'm used to, but I didn't care too much, as my friend took care of things that day. I volunteered to pay since she drove me around, but thankful all the same. We spent about an hour here before heading out. A quick meal before heading to the hotel to check in for the evening. For the most part though, this hidden spot in Fremont, CA is a good spot for Thai food. Whether you need your daily fix or just getting over a hangover or maybe a breakup, Thai food often helps fill the void when life presents you with such things. If you're in the area, consider Bahn Thai thai restaurant for your Thai food fix. You'll be glad you did. I definitely recommend it and hope to return sometime soon when my travels allow me to do so back to the Bay Area. Bahn Thai Thai restaurant is located at 333 Main Street here in Fremont, California. They accept major credit cards, but due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, it is requested but not required. Cash is good too. As far as parking options go, the restaurant has a small parking lot that feeds the maybe up to 10 stalls. Anything more than that would have to find parking nearby. If you can come by here thru local public transportation, that's cool too. I'm assuming the majority of local Californian peeps drive, but local public transportation is there whenever you need it. For the most part though, the experience here at Bahn Thai thai restaurant was a nice spot for lunch and hope to be back soon. It was nice of my friend to introduce me to this spot where her family had dined in the past. Thai cuisine is always amazing and this spot in Fremont, California offers authentic tastes for reasonable prices. Maybe it is a hidden gem, not sure. While I was there, I saw the Indian curry pizza place next door. During my lunch here at Bahn Thai, I online ordered a pizza since Indian food was on the my menu that night and it literally next door. Order was ready when I finished at Bahn Thai. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 5.0 stars for the food and ambiance. 4.0 stars for the service. Support local! B

Americanized Thai food and mostly I was unimpressed with the lack of spices and the use of too much sugar in their curry. Service was spotty and it's hard to communicate with the server. Not my favorite Thai place around as there are much better places in Fremont .

Ordered pad kee mao and roti for take out. The pad kee mao noodles were cooked perfectly and had a chewy consistency. They didn't ask how spicy we wanted it over the phone, but if they did, I would've ordered it hot for some more flavor. I would definitely order their pad kee mao again. The roti crepes were good except the curry sauce was super salty and I couldn't drench/dunk the roti crepes into the curry for the maximum curry indulgence! Looking forward to going back and ordering some different dishes.

Very good food and service. The online orders take a bit longer that confirmed. Minor things : The comments on preparing food spiciness were not addressed.

Always enjoy the food, but they need to hire for dine in service, I called in my order and went and ate there. That worked out well.

Pineapple Fried Rice - 4 stars Sweet and Sour Chicken - 3 stars Yellow Curry - 4.5 stars The pineapple fried rice was quite flavorful! It had lots of pineapple but the carrots and green beans were cut in large chunks so they weren't cooked very well. The sweet and sour chicken was just okay - some pieces of chicken were too chewy. The yellow curry was so tasty! Definitely recommend the yellow curry. We ordered the food through GrubHub and delivery was quick. The food was still really warm when we got it and it was packed really tightly. Overall, had a good experience here and will definitely order the yellow curry again!

Update 10-28-21 5 years ago I gave this place a 5. 3 Years ago I downgraded them to 3. They had taken out the tapestries and put in bright lights and made it loud and bright. They had stopped serving purple rice. But now, they don't even give you the proper curry. You get pumpkin curry sauce when you order Massaman curry, they just leave out the pumpkin bits. We ordered Tom Ka soup with chicken and it was missing half the ingredients and it was awful. We ordered brown rice and it was literally the scrapings from the bottom of a steamer and crunchy. You order a green salad and they always give you cucumber salad, because they don't keep the greens... I spent 65 dollars on take out and it was horrible. This happened about a month ago. I used to take my son there at least once a month as a reward. But we won't be back. You charge to much to be so bad. Seriously.

Do not recommend this place order fried rice and pad Thai noodle (chicken) was too flat and end up not eating it . Should have checked rating prior.

Once upon a time I would have gave Banh Thai 5 stars. It has gone down very bad. I ordered the pork bbq. They gave me no roce and this is the second time in a row the meat was dry like they cooked it a week ago. Won't come back ever again.
