I had a cousin who used to live in the Bay area return for a visit. One of the places he insisted on going was this place. In his memory? He believes this is one of the best burgers he's ever had and since he now lives in Oregon, he had to hit it up.
Billy Roy's is essentially a HomeTown mom and pop franchise. It's much bigger than a mom and pop franchise would be partially because the owner of this establishment has several other successful restaurant businesses sprinkled throughout the area as well. One of which is Dino's diner, and as far as I know none of these are franchises so they are wholly local businesses.
The location of the restaurant is not on a main Street. Although it does get some decent traffic going back and forth, it isn't surrounded by other shops or many businesses. So its reputation is strong enough to draw its crowd. It is a burgers and fries type restaurant. And their burgers are the highlight of the visit but also has other foods such as salads, other kinds of sandwiches and burgers, and a whole lot of different kinds of sides.
I'll keep this one relatively short. The place is good. My family adores it. I think it's overrated, but it isn't disappointing or waste of money or time. The food is quality, the service is good, the atmosphere is good. The establishment is so big. It rivals a commercial franchise, and even has a separate building next door that belongs to the restaurant where they can hold private functions. Functions. The selection is varied, and I can see why people are fond of it, but I don't know if I've ever found anything there that was so special, uniquely flavored or an experience unto itself that it stands out in a way that would bring me back if family didn't love it as much as they did. However, maybe all the things that I said about the not for stuff and its local town presence is what people like about it and adds to the experience of coming to Billy Roy's.
Word of advice, if you do come here, share your sides because they're well. Proportioned, as there were always leftovers when the party's over. You don't have to have burgers either, they are a bit on the pricier side as far as burgers go, but so would a burger at Red Robin's or other sit-down burger chain be as well.
I do recommend that you try it for yourself, and see if you agree with anything. I say. I personally would not come here on my own if I weren't with people who wanted to come, but when I do come I'm not disappointed.
Decent burgers that had a better idea than execution. Patty was substantial but not seasoned well enough, also was a little dry, texture-wise. I liked the sauces on the burgers but there was too much lettuce / onion on the burgers. Service was good and the food came out quick, no complaints other than the food could have been better.
Food was great, tasted very good. The style feels very open and nice. Once you place your order, they will typically give it to you at a table (you get a sign with number). Only complaint is the food is a little more on the expensive side for me. Loved the kids meal for a smaller meal/snack. Comes with main item, fries, and a drink. The burgers are also quite a good size, but on the more expensive side for me.
Food was amazing very fulfilling first timer glad I had a birthday 🎂 meal with my new girlfriend need to try to go more often to try more food items
Quick friendly service with great burgers. They also feature creative desserts.
As far as burgers go, Billy Roy's does it right. Tasty with fresh ingredients. I like that they pile the lettuce thick to balance the beef. You can also choose the cook of your patty. Garlic fries were as expected. Good.
I didn't try the sliders pictured, but they didn't like it. I suspect they had the wrong expectation though (they didn't like pretzel bun), so don't let that deter you. Also looked fresh to me.
Service was great. Plenty of large TVs to watch playoffs. Chill, family-friendly atmosphere. I'm coming back.
If you want a delicious, fresh burger instead of that fast food stuff, try Billy Roy's.
Great food.
Very family friendly. Food was very good and timely delivered. All 3 of us inhaled our burgers and loved every bite.
LOVE that it’s locally owned and operated and not part of a big corporate chain or a franchised concept! Local and independent = good! Let’s support that.
The restaurant is huge and has a great layout and feel. Good for families too.
Customer service is always super friendly and fast.
The burgers: each time I’ve been here, the burgers have been very dry and not juicy. There’s flavor in their burgers because of everything else on them (various sauces, produce and condiments depending on what burger you ordered) but the meat patty itself = dry and lacking flavor.
Fries and other sides are generous portions and taste just like fries and similar sides should.
Really good food great service

Great place for some burgers and fries.
The food was amazing!!!!! I will be back!!!!
Ok, as a Fremont resident
This place is #1 in every aspect. I need to add the employee. People who work there are incredible 😲 the best, asking if everything is ok. My experience was very sweet right after we ordered our lunch. i went to check the dessert 🍨 🥧 department. 😲 Omg 😲 😍 I said I wanted everything, but after my huge lunch, there was no room for dessert ,so here comes this beautiful lady with a piece of my favorite red velvet cake and said Ms this is from the house for you....
I'm absolutely shocked 😲 that we still have restaurants with the high end of customer service 🙄
Congratulations!!!
A plus 10, 🙏 visit
Today my fiance and I tried the burgers she had the regular cheese burger and I got the diablo burger and oh boy, let me tell something this was the driest burger we got especially for trying something new the meat was dry barely any sauce on either, we had to put ketchup on ours to get a little bit of flavor. When I asked the cashier if the burger was pretty spice he said yes and nope was not spicy at all the only some spice I got was the pickled jalapeños because it rubbed on the back of my throat. The garlic frys my fiance got lacked taste not garlicy and a little bit soggy. The Mac and cheese I got tasted so bland and watery. Kraft would have been a better choice at least some restaurants tell you they sell Kraft Mac and cheese, this one here tasted not cheesy and just wet with half melted cheese on top. I would recommend just going to carls jr across the street than this place
Always love this place!
