If I could give this place zero stars honestly I would. My family and I waited 20 minutes to get called for pani puri and then when they went to serve us they had us and another group. The other group had 7 people in the group and there was no space to even stand. The group ended up standing in front of us even though we were called before them. When we told the person serving us that there is no room for my family and I to stand he rudely told us to come back later and he will serve us then. We told him that we waited for so long and wanted to be served but not by standing behind an huge group of people. He was still extremely rude and told us that we should wait longer to be served. Never coming back here again and I do not recommend coming here at all! Terrible terrible service
Wish I took a photo.
Dhai golgappas amazing.
The pani puris were to die for. Definitely try the pineapple and mango.
I did knock off a point for the chole because the gravy tasted like it was chili puree. I love spicy but it was hard to taste the massala over the sukhi or dry chili taste.
Everything about this place is amazing. Just the chana needs a little bit of work.
Place is great with live indian music and great chole bhaturas :)
The food here is very very average. Parking is a menace.
Good food
Great food and even better cha
It was drawn by the curiosity of trying their popular Pani Puri experience. The concept is definitely unique—they offer a variety of flavored panis to pair with your puris, which adds a creative twist to the traditional street food.
While I appreciated the idea and presentation, I found that only one or two of the panis actually had a flavor profile I enjoyed. The rest felt either too experimental or simply didn’t work well with the dish. It was an interesting and different take on a classic Indian snack, but taste-wise, it didn’t fully deliver for me.
The ambience aims to recreate the bustling, colorful vibe of Old Delhi’s Chandni Chowk, and they’ve done a decent job setting that scene. It’s a fun place to visit once, especially for someone looking to try something offbeat, but not something I’d return to regularly.
Overall, it’s an okay spot with a novel approach, but the experience felt more like a one-time try than a go-to destination for Indian street food lovers.
They have excellent momos here and they are very tasty.
The wait time is too long. They are super slow. Make sure you count the pani puri. I tested them a couple of times- they don’t serve the whole count per plate.
Tried their Pani poori and absolutely loved it. Went again next day for more.
This is the best one I have had so far in Bay Area.
Kids tried chicken momo’s and gave it 4/5.
Restaurantji Recommends
I recently visited Chandi Chowk and had a disappointing experience with their payment policy. When I tried to pay in cash around 14$ with a 20$ bill, they refused, claiming they didn’t have change and insisted I pay by card.
I don’t know if businesses can refuse to take cash.
Not returning again….
I had a frustrating experience here recently. When I tried to pay with cash, I was told they couldn’t accept it because they didn’t have any change. This was the third time. The guy insisted I either pay by card or leave without my purchase. I found this incredibly inconvenient, especially since I prefer using cash. It’s disappointing that a business would put customers in that position, especially when cash is a legal tender. It would have been better if they had planned better for cash transactions or at least offered an alternative solution, rather than forcing customers to pay via card. I won’t be returning!
Pani puri good I try almost everything other item not bad also
Absolutely in love with the matka chai!! The triple schezwan fried rice is also a must try !
The absolute bomb 💣 if you want the vibe of street food of India. The food was amazing and I am a very happy camper. There was a momo truck too and their food rocked too. Absolutely highly recommended.
