Dosa Place in Fremont is truly one of the best bang-for-the-buck spots for a South Indian breakfast. Their breakfast buffet offers great value with six different varieties of items, including thoughtful Jain options. The highlight, without a doubt, is the live hot dosa service—fresh dosas brought right to your table, which adds a nice touch to the whole experience.
The food easily deserves a 5/5 for taste, variety, and freshness. The service is solid as well, earning a 4/5, especially with the quick refills and friendly staff.
The ambiance, however, isn’t the strongest part of the experience. The place can feel a bit loud, and the overall setting is fairly basic, which brings the ambiance rating to 3/5.
Overall, Dosa Place is a great choice if you’re looking for delicious South Indian breakfast without breaking the bank. The food more than makes up for the modest ambiance.

The dosas are good. However the idlis were not so good and the sambar does not taste like it .

The buffet is excellent; however, an improvement could be made by updating the plates and catering serving items.

I ordered online from Fremont Dosa and the experience was mostly good with a couple of misses.
✅ What I liked:
The lemon rice and rasam were amazing — fresh, flavorful, and felt like true comfort food. Easily 5/5.
Upma and idli were also good — soft, well-prepared, and packed nicely for takeout.
❌ What didn’t work:
The gobi manchurian dish was disappointing. It lacked flavor and just didn’t taste good at all — definitely not up to the mark.
Overall, the food was packaged well, arrived warm, and delivery was smooth. I'd definitely reorder the lemon rice and rasam again!

This is a nice spot tucked away near Apni Mandi. They offer an extensive menu of dosas and Indian food; there’s something for everyone.
We had some really good gobi Manchurian and it really satisfied her cravings. We also ate Cholay Bhatturey and they were fluffy and light. The food is delicious and there’s plenty for sharing. The prices are actually cheap for the amount of food you get. The service people are nice and restaurant is clean with plenty of seating.
Not sure why so many people complain, it’s a very simple no frills type restaurant and the food is worth stopping by.

Excellent Masala Dosa in the Bay Area. The dosa batter was perfectly fermented and tasty. Nice and fresh Sambhar and Chutney. My husband didn’t wanted to have the Dosa since he had his lunch but he ended up having Masala Dosa because I loved it. Excellent customer service. Our order was ready within 5 mins. Loved and enjoyed the Masala Dosa.

The food was BAD. Had the veg puff and the dough inside was raw, the layers were oiled HEAVILY with palm oil that had gone rancid. The service is bleak and ao is the atmosphere. Just seemed like they did not care about people feeling good about eating the food or being here.

We just went for breakfast buffet. Worst experience ever. Food taste was ok. I used to love their dosa and always went there. First time tried their buffet. Was excited. My daughter eats only idli and plain dosa so when we entered I requested to get the dosas. Nothing came for 10 mins. Went again. After that 4 times they got dosa but conveniently did not come to our table. Reminded the same person who was distributing it 3 more times still nothing. 45 mins experience. So if you are looking for the buffet option the service will be impacted for sure. Never going there again. Mylapore and dosa hut option or if looking for buffet breakfast then go chatz!
From a very annoyed customer who has always been a frequent at the place.

I enjoyed their unlimited weekend breakfast buffet from 8-11am very much - it has unlimited supply of idly and dosa and a great variety of food including Indo Chinese food with generous portions of chutney. The price at $10 is unbeatable. Food is delicious, and seating is comfortable. Nearby is the big Indian supermarket for grocery shopping and also chai there or at the popular Deccan Morsels (see my review).
