Too much smoke in the dinning area. Services are extremely slow. Has a lot of hidden fees. 100% more expensive than we expected.

GEN has been our spot to chitchat with friends and colleagues. We usually come here on Wednesdays for lunch. Their honey-soy beef, steak, pork cheek, and popcorn chicken are a must-have. They have a friendly staff, especially Justin and Gerson.

The appetizers were clearly frozen pre-made food, fried until hard and dry. The menu font was ridiculously tiny, making it hard to order, and the food came out very slowly. The meat quality was poor — most of it tasted marinated, not fresh.

Our waiter, Josh, was horrible and has no business in working customer service. He was impatient, dismissive and point blank rude. For no reason? He absolutely had the mentality of “I’d literally rather be anywhere but here.” I do give kudos to the manager on duty who apologized and replaced Josh with another waiter who was much better. Josh then proceeded to give us nasty looks as he would pass our group’s table.

Had a bad experience here on 10/30/25. First time here.
Food server was rude all night! Food server left gas on without lighting the grill, the gas stayed on so long even the next table noticed the smell. Had to wait 42min to get water, finally went to the bar to ask for it . Got the water 10min later.
You could really tell the food server was either having a bad day or really hates his job.
The other staff were really cool though.
Just the food server ruined the whole experience.
Most likely will not return to this gen kbbq and would only recommend it if they would talk and guide their food servers better.
I only was able to get 3 rounds of food in 2 hours. The portions are really small in comparison to other kbbq spots. Also the food server said we can only order 1 order of meat per person each round. Really disappointed we were really hungry after a day of fishing.
Hope this helps out. Definitely ask for another food server if you get that rude one, if you happen to go here.

I have never had a good experience at any of the Gen restaurants, and this place is no exception. But this one was the WORST.

My party walked in and we were excited at first that they’d take a big party on a Saturday night. We ordered drinks at the bar while waiting for our tables, giving them good business to start.

However after we were seated it was chaos. The servers were not organized when taking everyone’s orders. We realized many of the orders were wrong - they kept bringing us karage chicken even though we were certain we did not order it 5 times (no one in the group even remembered ordering it once). They would deliver meat to the wrong groups. They were not helpful when one of the burners didn’t work, we had to ask three different waiters to address the issue and finally one of the servers set up the burner next to us. And to top it off at the very end they charged us a food waste fee for 7 plates at $5 each, which included the mystery orders of karage chicken. When we asked to speak to the manager about it they didn’t even try to listen to us, they insisted it was their policy regardless that they brought extra karage chicken to us by accident.

Paying $45/person for below average KBBQ and terrible service (0 respect to the customer) is definitely something I recommend to nobody.

Our large party of 20 had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever experienced Gen Korean BBQ. The manager on duty was Isabel and one of the servers was J.R. From start to finish, the service was completely unacceptable.
The servers were rude and inattentive, repeatedly bringing out food that we never ordered, some of the grills did not work, one of the vents was broken, and then we were charged for those extra dishes without explanation. When we tried to clarify the issue, the staff seemed irritated rather than helpful.
The manager Isabel made things even worse — instead of resolving the problem, they were confrontational and dismissive, insisting we pay for items we didn’t ask for or eat. It felt like we were being taken advantage of, and there was no sense of accountability or customer care.
With a large group, you’d expect at least basic courtesy and communication, but this was the most disorganized and unpleasant restaurant service we’ve ever experienced. We left feeling frustrated, disrespected, and overcharged.
I would strongly advise against coming here, especially with a group. There are plenty of other Korean BBQ spots that actually value their customers — this is definitely not one of them.

We have 20 ppl tonight (waited for 1.5hrs to be seated) but each grill has their own order. Waiters kept bringing food to us without we ordering it… They ended up charging us for the extra 3 plates of fries that we didn’t order. The manager couldn’t even explain how they count the extra charge and just overcharged us. The manager’s name is Isabel.

Excellent experience... great food and service. Really nice place to hangout with friends and enjoy some delicious food. We upgraded to the premium food and were not disappointed. Good times

It would have been 5 stars if our server explained things, like the fact they have vegetables and garlic, etc. We ate nothing but meat, would have been nice if they told us they have other stuff to grill.

Great spot for family and friends- excellent meats and appetizers. The spicy lamb is just awesome. Attentive service; our server probably changed out our grill six times.
