Food was great! Overall good taste! Had to wait a bit longer for pick up but it was fresh and hot. More vegetarian options and vegetarian Krispy is a must try!

I knew this place was going to be great when I saw them holding their baby and it did not disappoint. The salmon on my spicy salmon tasted very fresh and the kamikaze roll was excellent.

Small place with about 6 tables. We went for lunch on Sunday and there was a short wait. You order at the counter and food is brought to your table, water and hot tea are available to serve yourself. WOW! The rolls are HUGE and very reasonably priced for the size. I love the menu with a large variety of rolls, sauces and combinations to try. Most importantly the fish was fresh and everything we ordered was delicious. I definitely recommend the Phoenix roll. This is not close to home for me, but I'll go out of my way to come here for my sushi fix.

Their Boujee sushi roll is supremely good. How the place physically looks (hole in wall) is inversely proportional to food quality.

I have NO IDEA why on earth this place got 4.6 rating. But EVERYTHING here is a zero star experience. I almost throw up after eating here. It is small , dirty place. Don’t come!

A great new find! Really good quality food and some creative rolls! They are already expanding next-door, so expect big things if they keep doing what they’re

Kakuna is home to the BIGGEST sushi rolls. Each time I go I am never disappointed and the price is so good i’ve never been to a sushi store with prices as low as this, while maintaining a pretty good quality. The staff are extremely kind and help create a nice atmosphere. The only thing that I would take note of before going is that there is very limited seating, so I usually just get togo. I wouldn’t suggest this place if you are looking for a fancy sit down place, but more of a chill hangout with friends. Truly my go to spot for sushi now :)

Not really a place to dine in, but food is very delicious and portions are large. The rolls are super creative and have unique tastes. A must try for all fremont sushi fans.

We have been coming here for a while now and we have tried the Newark and Milpitas locations. We like their selection of well prepared sushi, that's why we keep coming back.

I ordered takeout. The Sushi did not look fresh. I checked the container in my car before leaving and found a hair. The front desk person was friendly and fixed the hair issue. Still the food didn't look right to me and I could only eat the California roll. The rest was concerning.

This is a really good spot for sushi. The store is very very small, so I would recommend ordering takeout. In fact I think most people are ordering takeout since when I came by they had about 10 orders before me even though nobody was in the restaurant. They are pretty efficient if you're not ordering the cooker rolls or foods. Their rolls are also pretty large - you definitely need to take 2-3 bites for each piece!

This is one of my go-to sushi places. Their service is fast, I have mostly ordered take-out from here. The sushi is quite good, with fresh ingredients. In terms of ambience, its a low-key, hole in the wall, quite simple restaurant in Grimmer, Fremont. I usually order the shrimp tempura sushi, particularly Samurai, which is my fav.
