Anybody Know anyone that use to work there? Did they make their red sauce for chips in house or get from a distributor? Can they tell me where to get it or remember the recipe? Not the chunky one…..red sauce only! Haven’t lived in Fremont for decades, but would always still go to this place just to get that red sauce!!

Have been going there for over 25 years. Need me to say more. Except best Margaritas bar none.

This was our favorite Mexican food place for both atmosphere and tasty food. I'm so sorry to see it go out of business. Wish we could get it back somehow.

Marc n I ate here for brunch today after a Funeral we attended in Long Beach. Very quaint little place with very limited seating. Had 7 tables on the back patio. Service was slow as they may have been short-handed. The main Manager a taller man didn't seem to interact much with the guest or the staff and the two waitresses didn't seem to communicate or work hand in hand together. The food, however, was pretty good, not bad. I had meat lovers omlette - egg was alittle on the dry side or over cooked and Marc had Steak n Eggs. Careful ordering any drinks like Bloody Marys or Tequila Sunrise, they are very weak, but the $6.00 price isn't bad. Would we come back? Maybe if we lived in the area, but most likely not because I like to try out different places.

I heartbroken to hear they have closed. This restaurant has been my favorite since I was 5 years old. A family tradition in my family. I always got the #5 and soup. I still crave that soup whenever I'm feeling sick. It was so comforting and flavorful. No other Mexican restaurant will ever live up to La Casita

It's a bummer they closed. I'm not sure I haven't driven by to see... due to the pandemic and recently having moved we couldn't go there at the beginning of the year, but I tried calling the number and it is disconnected. This place has my favourite Chile Relleno and I really liked their salsa (they mixed up a special spicy one too just had the right burn and flavour). It's my girlfriend's favourite too. We went there often prior to the pandemic probably at least once a week sometimes more. The employees there felt like friends. Had one of the big birthdays there too... I'll give a special shout out to Sergio although everybody was wonderful (I'm remembering another name sounded like Pepe). Thanks for giving us a good experience there. Hope to run into you all in the future wish I could have snatched a few recipes :(

Sadly it seems like covid took its toll and La Casita has closed its doors for good. The sign removed from the front door way.Loved the food here, been coming for decades....hope they return one day....

I am heartbroken to just learn that La Casitas has closed its doors for good. My Dad had been coming here since he was a young boy and when my parents married they lived down the street on Penny Terrace and came here often. My parents brought me and my sister here as babies and every year there after. The food was always delicious and coming here was always associated with happy memories. The food was always consistently good and the service was fast. We nearly always had the some wonderful waiter who worked there for decades and was the absolute best and kindest person and waiter I've ever experienced. So sad to lose such a memorable and comforting family restaurant. My parents were literally in tears when we arrived on Saturday to celebrate an early Father's Day to find it vacated.

If this is true and my all-time favorite Mexican restaurant, La Casita in Fremont, is closed I am truly heartbroken. This family restaurant has been in Fremont for decades. And I could never count the amount of times I've enjoyed meals here or drinks at their bar. I love your family, and you have to know how much the community of Fremont, and beyond, has enjoyed your amazing cooking, and your family environment. I grew up eating there with my friends and family.....so many events sharing a celebration. And years ago friends would meet there after work at NUMMI. All I can say is, I will never eat Mexican food like this again. You will always be in our hearts and minds, wishing your family all the very best. You deserve it all! xoxo Kelley (Carlisle) Heimsoth Born and raised in Fremont since 1959!

So sad to here this place has closed. It is always somewhere I stop when I visit back home. Chicken and rice soup was legendary

In light of your closing, please strongly consider writing a cookbook with your recipes! It would be popular!

It has now officially closed. It will not reopen after the shutdown. One of the last true family owned restaurants , where the food and drink was bearable, due to the Awesome stafd that worked there. Now we have to deal with all the chain restaurants where young kids who barely care about customer service serve you.

The last of the privately owned places around here is closed. There will be no other place like this ever, and i am not talking about food or drinks, i am talkung about the staff.

A fremont classic. Delicious, big portioned plates. My entire family has been coming here 20+ years and the food has never changed recipes, the family feel is always there and you always feel welcomed. The staff is very friendly and they don't take forever to get you your meal either. From eating alone, to date night to a birthday party this place caters to all and youl leave full and happy.
