I love their chole kulcha. It’s the best I had in USA. Me and my husband frequently go to this place and we tried almost everything on their menu.

My husband and I come here very frequently for two reasons - the food here is really good, and there’s a really nice uncle (owner) who greets us at the door with a warmth that reminds us of home.
Everything we’ve tried off the menu has been really good, just like street stalls from Mumbai.
Our favorites are the kala khatta and kashmiri soda for drinks, chole kulcha, misal paav, tavaa pulav, and chaat for veg food, and shrimp sukha and fish thaali for meats.
This place is must visit if you’re from Maharashtra and are tired of eating North Indian at every Indian restaurant you go to.

Probably went when there was limited service help but there was an old gentleman who complete ruined our experience trying to serve us food.
We indicated the rice was uncooked and even asked him to try. Instead he justified indicating that its how its made. My wife ended up with stomach pain trying to eat that while rest of my family didn't eat it.
What's disappointing is the repeated justification telling the customer that they are incorrect instead of taking it back and try fixing it with something else. He didn't even feel a bit of remorse taking money from us for the dish.
I wouldn't go here at all in future.

We got a bunch of different fish Thalis, curries and chaat.
Overall, the promfret thali has great sides and I especially loved the promfret curry and Solkadhi. My friends loved the Goan curries too, which had a good amount of spice. I thought the bombil fry was very flavorful but a little dry.
The owners are very friendly and talking to them made our visit even better! Highly recommended to visit for the fish dishes and solkadhi.

Went for lunch and I was impressed by the selection and level of spice. The chicken biryani was some of the best I have had.

Absolutely delicious! I was completely shocked by all the horrid reviews, got thumbs up all around from family. Fish was tender, buttery, and delicious, came out piping hot. Everyone working was super welcoming and nice, making sure to describe each dish carefully. Overall 10/10!!

Tried Mumbai Chowk last night and loved it. The misal came bubbling in its spicy gravy, caution it’s extremely hot. Sabudana vada were crisp outside, fluffy inside, with just a hint of roasted‑peanut. On the non‑veg side, balti chicken was s tender, we had a non-veg tho as well and it just average. Friendly, fast service and fair prices.

If you’re looking for truly comforting, flavor-packed Indian food in the Bay Area, this is the spot. I don’t write a lot of reviews, but this place absolutely deserves the love.
We’ve been coming here for a while now, and I can honestly say the food never disappoints. It’s the kind of place that keeps pulling you back in—weekday, weekend, doesn’t matter. The taste? Always on point. The service? Even better.
What really sets this place apart is Abdul, the owner. He’s warm, kind, and goes out of his way to make every guest feel welcome. Every time we visit, he greets us personally—both before and after the meal—and it’s that extra touch that makes the experience feel so special.
Now, let’s talk food. The Balti Paneer and Dal Fry are to die for—like, can’t-stop-scooping-every-last-bite good. My friend swears by the Shrimp Balchao, and Abdul told us he handpicks recipes from across India, curating a menu that reflects different regions and his own creativity. You can tell every dish has been crafted with love and pride.
And sure, the restaurant might not look fancy from the outside—but don’t let that fool you. If you’re craving bold, authentic, dhaba-style food, this is your place. It’s comfort food at its absolute best.

Delicious food
This was a great find and some absolutely delicious food.
Tried the Pomfret thali. A full fried pomfret, pomfret curry, sol kadi, vegetables, dal, rice, 2 rotis, will be sure to fill you up. The chhole entree comes with an Amritsari kulcha which was delightful.
Also try the appetizer. Superb vada-pav!
Always great to see an owner-operator. Would definitely recommend a try.

Mumbai Chowk is a hidden gem! The dining area has such a cozy and welcoming vibe — perfect for a relaxed meal. I had the chicken tikka masala and some garlic naan, and wow… both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and authentic, and that naan was perfectly crisp with just the right amount of garlic. I’d definitely come back next time I’m in the area. Highly recommend for anyone craving solid Indian food in Fremont!
