My pickup order was delayed by 20 minutes. I followed up on my online order with a phone call asking to pack idli and sambhar separately but the instructions were ignored. Last, but not the least, I had ordered idli-wada combo but wada is missing from the order.

Catered items for an event. Very responsive and flexible staff.
Food was great - puri, sagu, bisi bele bath and vada.
Light on stomach and definitely better than most other restaurants that we catered earlier

Edit and update ; this is not related to Rameshwaram Cafe room Cafe in Bangalore I just got a confirmation from the main folks in Bangalore in case someone wanted to know
Rameshwaram Cafe is one of those places that feels more hype than substance. The setup reminded me more of a student mess than a proper restaurant, run by what looks like a group of enthusiastic bachelors.
Ambience: Very basic. If you value ambience as much as food (like I do), this place won’t impress.
Food:
• Tatte Idli – soft and decent, worth trying once.
• Vada – underwhelming, not as flavorful as expected.
• Dosa & other South Indian staples – honestly, I’ve had much better in other Fremont-area restaurants.
Service: Slow. When you’re hungry, waiting this long gets frustrating.
Presentation & Utensils: looks Organic made out of natural material ( plus point ) . But plastic spoons, which really takes away from the restaurant experience.
Update: I was under the assumption that this is related to Rameshwaram Cafe in Bangalore , it is not I just got a confirmation from the Rameshwaram folks in bangalore , in case someone is wondering.
Overall: Nothing special. There are definitely better spots nearby for authentic South Indian food with better ambience and quicker service. If you’re in a rush then ok or if you are looking for a pleasant dining experience, I’d skip this one.
And note Sambar and Tea served in the same type of cup 😁 who does that !

Reason for 1 star below
Don't confuse the rameshwaram cafe in India with this one. This is not one of their braches in California.. lol...
Food was ok ok. Sambar didn't had one vegetable in it. Absolutely rubbish. Service was off totally. Ordered 4 items online ( 2 medi vada and 2 dosas)
It showed online that it will be ready by 9.20am. it wasn't ready and I had to wait outside for 20 mins more. Got order by 9.40am, no proper communication or apology for having me waited for it.
It's not that the restaurant was crowded. Just 3 tables and one more person waiting for his togo. Service was just too slow. Even the waiter was so slow to give orders for those seated. I would have bought 3 orders from inside and given to the table in that same timeframe.
Front staff needs more communication and clarity on why orders are delivered late. I ordered 2 plate of medu vada. So I should get 6 medu vadas and instead got 5. I called them up and they apologized that they might have missed checking the count.
Such a disaster if they can't manage Sunday early mrng crowd.

Poor service and understaffed. Avoid. Go to Mylapore instead. It is closeby and they treat you better

Sambar Vada dip was alright, IMO a dish that's best had fresh instead of take out (since they are packed pre-dipped and gets too soggy after just 10mins).
The real star is their peanut chutney! Not too salty or too strong, it's just the perfect addition to any of their dishes. Unless you are allergic.

Food is simple and good, not spicy. Price is less, quantity is also less but reasonable for price. We tried lemon idli, sambar vada, special dosa and masala dosa. Lemon idli was different but was okay. Rest all were good. Food is not extraordinary, but simple and good. We loved the chutneys (peanut and coconut), they are full of flavor and you can smell peanuts in chutneys which was delicious. Ambience is average.

Great food. Menu a bit limited but best dosa in Fremont especially if you are craving that specific Benne dosa Bangalore vibes. Uthapam idli vada also amazing. Will visit again. Prices extremely cheap in relative to other places as well.

This was, unfortunately, the worst South Indian food experience I’ve had in the Bay Area. The food was served uncooked, which is unacceptable for any restaurant. The service was equally disappointing — slow, inattentive, and with an attitude that made the experience even worse. I expected authentic flavors and hospitality, but instead left frustrated and unsatisfied. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for quality food or service.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had in the Bay Area. The food was uncooked, which is unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone one advertising authentic South Indian cuisine. The staff’s behavior was rude and unwelcoming, making the experience even more unpleasant. I would not recommend Rameshwara Cafe to anyone there are far better options in the area that actually value their customers.

Go there only if you're really missing the south indian food and there are no other options around. Otherwise an okay-ish place.

I’ve been ordering from this restaurant for a while now because I really like their sambar and dosa, very typical Bangalore style.
Twice in a row, I’ve received the wrong order or uncooked dosa. Today I ordered tamarind rice and received lemon rice instead. When I called the restaurant, the person answering my call says he will give me the correct order next time..!! What kind of customer service is this. Extremely apathetic and they don’t care if the wrong order has gone out.
