Sorry, will not go back again! I ordered ox tail soup, and two small thin oxtails and hard to chew and tiny pieces meat for $25?! And only 3 low quality small dishes. I went so many Korean restaurants and this is ridiculous high charging for low quality and quality food!

Food was absolutely good. Even better than some of restaurants in Korea! Server was very nice. We will for sure coming back. It was overall really great decision to go try seollungtang there.
Also I see lots of folks mentioning banchan is too simple but honestly you don’t need banchan except good radish kimch(깍두기) for seollungtang. If you need banchan for your soup then the restaurant is doing something wrong lol
Maybe they are keeping things too authentic for some folks! But yeah I’ll definitely coming back here!!!!

This is a mom and pop operation so don't expect anything fancy. It's a fast in and out lunch place. I like that the tables were spaced out with a high ceiling.

I had Nyeomyeong (spicy cold noodles). It hit the spot. Very authentic flavors. I would definitely have this dish again. A great dish to have when it is 102F outside.

Next time I want to try the beef stew Galbi Jjim. Probably in the cooler fall weather.

The appetizers were limited to 3 dishes. Just soso. I enjoyed the extra kick in the kimchi.

The service was fast and efficient. They even gave a little bottle of yakult type of drink at the end of the meal which was a bonus.

Short Rib Bliss ?

When it comes to bone broth, Korean galbi-tang or short rib soup reigns supreme and, for the Bay Area, that means Santa Clara’s Kunjip

I’ve been going to Kunjip for over 20 years and while the dish is served at a few other spots (notable Daeho Kalbijjim), nothing beats a specialist

So when reviews started popping up about Soo Ja Seolleongtang, I knew I had over to the East Bay and check it out

Soo Ja Seolleongtang is the second restaurant from the same Soo Ja Fusion group in this strip mall plaza. Parking is plentiful and crowds are more disperse compared to the Peninsula or South Bay

The menu features a variety of bone broths and cold noodle soups but I focused on the galbi tang

Each order includes three types of banchan, green onions, pickled onions and white rice

The banchan is on the sweeter and less spicy side although I did enjoy the kimchi much more once the savory broth arrived

The broth arrives in a scalding bubbling cauldron and is distinguished by both its size (seemingly about 20% larger than Kunjip) and two very large beef ribs)

The broth’s flavor and temp are fantastic with hardly any need to add any salt or pepper. Kitchen shears are provided to cut up the plentiful beef and enjoy with the pickled onions

All in all, Soo Ja Seoulleongtang is the real deal and it’s nice to see the East Bay have its own beef soup specialist

The East Bay is definite a pop off area for ethnic eats as the Peninsula gets more crowded/expensive. And while the area may not be K-town (90% of the dialects spoken by customers are Chinese), Soo Ja is authentically Korean

Korean food specialized on delicious beef soups and braised beef short ribs. Everything we ordered was delicious and special. Very few items in the menu but good quality food

Came here on a rainy weekday for lunch! Glad I stumbled upon this spot on Yelp. It's clear that it's popular. The tables were filled the entire time with lots of families eating together. The service was friendly and attentive.

This is the perfect food to eat when you're sick or on a cold day or after a hangover! Overall, a heartwarming food. :) I got the seolleongtang with brisket. The broth was milky white, and it tasted so hearty when you add some salt and pepper. It is SUPER hot (I scalded myself) so be careful when sipping!

It came with a side of rice and banchan. I was a fan of the kimchis, which were salty! The brisket paired well with this; the texture of the meat was soft.

It's nice to know there's a solid seolleongtang spot in the Bay! I don't think it matches the flavor of the famous seolleongtang shop in K-Town Los Angeles, but it's good nevertheless. I'd come back to try their other foods.

It has a taste comparable to “Kunjip” in Santa Clara or “Daeho” in Milpitas/San Mateo, but without the long wait. I'm glad to see this Korean restaurant in Fremont!

Seolleongtang is a new korean oxbone soup restaurant that does it traditionally where you add your own salt and pepper and seasonings at the table.

It has ample seating and can accommodate big parties if needed. It is a lil out of the way compared to south bay but is one of the few korean shops in fremont.

We had their SOOJA Seolleongtang (if its in the name thought u have to get it ?) and it had a deep flavor in it. Definitely feels healthy.

It comes with rice and side dishes and their kimchi was definitely done really well (wish i had room to eat more haha)

Plenty of parking in the plaza so pretty easy to get in and out and its next to 880

Definitely check them out!
