Atmosphere was nice. Server was helpful—let us know the kitchen was closing within an hour and told us which plates would come out quick. Quick service, tasty food. Would come back. Good for late night dinner.

I enjoyed a delightful meal with great ambiance and service. However, despite displaying a sign that they accept American Express, I was told at payment that this wasn’t an option. This inconsistency was inconvenient and detracted from an otherwise wonderful dining experience. I hope they clarify their payment policies to avoid future confusion.

Recently, I had the pleasure of taking my son out for a special date night at Special Noodle in Newark, and it was truly a delightful experience. The food was simply delicious, earning it a solid 4.5 stars in my book. While the chow fun wasn't the best I've had, and the soup dumplings were just average, the chili wontons definitely hit the spot.However, the star of the show was undeniably the numbing beef soup. It was bursting with flavor and truly a must-try, although be prepared for a slight numbing sensation in your tongue and throat. Despite this, it remains one of my favorite soups.In addition to the fantastic food, the service was top-notch. The staff was quick, responsive, and very accommodating, despite the language barrier with some servers. Their warmth and friendliness added to the overall pleasant dining experience.I also appreciated the unique decor and ambiance of the restaurant, particularly the lavish lights adorning the overhead ceiling. It added a special touch to the dining atmosphere.Overall, Special Noodle offers a memorable dining experience with its delicious food, excellent service, and charming ambiance. I highly recommend giving it a try.

Spicy beef noodle soup was disappointing. Arrived lukewarm after an extensive wait even though it wasn’t busy. Soup must’ve been sitting at the service counter for some time. The highlight was one small piece of bok choy while the broth, beef and thick noodles were mediocre. Service needs attention. No one checked on me the entire meal and orders are submitted through your phone after scanning the table. My phone had service issues so I had to request a tablet to place my order. Was excited to try this place but I’ll be hesitant to return.

Although it's a little Americanized, Chinese food is delicious no matter who eats it. The noodles are delicious. There's also volume. There are many menus that use Chinese ingredients, which is good.

The beef roll was crispy and tasty. Not overly greasy with a bit of vege to help it taste less unhealthy. The soup dumplings were full of soup and delicious. The skin was not too thick but also not thin enough that it breaks easy. Got the spicy lamb noodles and the noodles were perfect, with a good kick.
