My meal was delicious. It took a very long time to get the knife I requested, though, which was annoying, because I needed it to begin eating. Atmosphere feels more like a refugee camp than a restaurant, as it’s in a big, dark, dingy tent, and the bathroom was dirty and smelled terrible. Came here last minute while working in Gilroy. The atmosphere is great! The mural throughout the interior, music and lighting was great. Shrimp tacos were nicely portioned wrapped in home made flour tortillas, no beans with the plate, but the rice was incredible.
To this day there is no place that beats the flavor of their hot molcajete (they are also cold) in all of Northern California in the Bay Area. I have been to different seafood restaurants and the flavor and spiciness of the broth (sauce) cannot be matched and I have ended up paying triple for something very mediocre in terms of portion and preparation, but here in Puerto Vallarta it is excellent!
