The cannolis were always the best thing here! Service was good. It's a cute little area.

This place use to be good, but they sell day to two day old bakery items and they took away all the hot meals.

I bought a strawberry pastry yesterday around noon, and I got an explosive diarrhea like never in my life, I think it was just this pastry the one that was bad, but the guy who served didn't even know the name of it. I am not coming back.

They do NOT make pizza. Edit: Google says this location makes pizza, and the pizza is good. We went there for the pizza but found out they make pastries, not pizza. Very confusing. Changing my review to 5 stars because maybe the pastries are good, I wouldn't know because we went somewhere else to get pizza.

Was told today they are for take out only, so you can't eat here. Why are there so many tables. You just dropped a star.

Had some of the worst food in my life at this place and the pastries were nothing special. Seems like it’s been sold since then and things are getting worse not betterEdit: nope, correct business. The meal was a while back and I was thinking of trying the pastries again but not after some of these reviews

Love this place! Wish they still sold food. EVERYTHING here is delicious. Buy all your pastries here and ditch safeway and raleys. The Cheesecake is my favorite

My local go to for some of the best pastries and cakes. I love the lemoncello cake, pistachio cake, and any of the chocolate cakes. I am not able to have dinner there due to dietary restrictions but it always smells amazing and looks so good! The place is always spotless. The service is always friendly. It is a hidden gem for sure. Check them out!Parking: Plenty of free parking in the shared shopping area parking lot.

We walked by this cute little coffee shop/bakery on our way to dinner last night and could see the full racks of pastries that looked yummy. We decided to try it out for dessert after dinner. Since we didn't recognize some of the pastries and nothing was labeled, we asked the person behind the counter what a couple were. The person was rather grouchy and unhelpful; mumbling and not answering the question. He didn't seem to be enjoying his job at all. The pastries looked good so we decided to get a couple to try. Again the person behind the counter was rather rude when we only chose two pastries, asking in an exasperated voice, 'Is that ALL?' I was tempted to just leave but we went ahead and purchased our two pastries. We got an eclair and a slice of lemon cake and took them home to enjoy for dessert since it was much too warm in the cafe. The pastries were okay. I'd say 3.5 stars. A bit over what you'd get in a grocery store bakery perhaps. I realize people have bad days but there should be some professionalism. Plus the quality of the pastries wasn't great. I doubt we'll come again.

I had given this place 5 stars before. But now im disappointed. Drove almost 2 hours to find out this place no longer serves food, they dont serve coffee and you cant sit down to enjoy the pastries. What a bummer! But they still have coffee menu on the wall, the sign outside still says bakery italian food pastry coffee shop. Spent $25 on 4 pastries to go! Then place smells like cigar, horrible smell. Then the guy at the counter had no hospitality! Im soo upset and sad, i really liked this place, guess i wont be returning anymore. Anyone have a suggestion for a local cafe?

We were driving back to SoCal from NorCal when I searched restaurants in the Gilroy area on Yelp. We were already dining at The Old City Hall Restaurant when I searched it, but it was the perfect find. Full of Italian pastries that looked so inviting, Sweet Sicily has an option for everyone! My eyes couldn't take in enough! From Cannolis to cookies to cake and pastries. Simply delicious choices that aren't terribly sweet. We chose the ricotta filled pastry, a couple of meringue cookies, a slice of carrot cake, and a cream puff with raspberries. The flaky crust on the pastries was perfectly crispy and soft at the same time. The whipped cream in the cream puff was exactly what I remember eating as a kid. I grew up in an Italian family, so these desserts take me right back. The only thing wrong was that we didn't buy enough. I wished we had purchased more, but we had a drive ahead of us and the day was warm. We didn't get to try any food during the visit because we planned for just a quick stop. The service was below average. I must admit. The gentleman helping us did not seem to like his job. However, he wasn't rude. I believe the place still deserves five stars for their desserts. If we ever travel through again, we will be stopping!!!

What a trip! On my way to see relatives in San Jose I stopped in Gilroy for dessert. I walked in early on a Saturday morning to an empty store and was stunned by the wonderful display of beautiful pastries. The young man working asked me what can I get you as I was looking and I had lots of questions about what things were. He answered each question with clear annoyance and heavy sighs. Not the kind of pleasantness you would expect from a bakery employee. I ended up getting 5 tiramisu cups for $29.70, which were delicious and all enjoyed later that evening! The young man resistantly helping me tried putting the cups in a flat clear container that squished the top of cookie into the tiramisu, which was a fail and he had to go get two smaller but taller containers which clearly annoyed him (and me)! I'd go back because the desserts were beautiful and the tiramisu was fantastic. However, if Grumpy Gus is working, I'll pass! P.S. I always get a giggle when these young workers are rude as can be and it's time to ring you up, you get a somewhat pleasant thank you thinking that's going to get them a tip! Not even! He got a big fat 0! Dude needs a remote job! 3 Rating would be a 5 for product and 0 for service. Sorry business owner, I know it's hard to get good help these days.
