I've been coming to this restaurant for over a decade. So I've dined here in the best of times, and the worst of times. They used to have a server that sang opera. One time there was a party going on, and she sang a bit, it was amazing. Another time my Aunt went to the restroom at closing, and she got locked in the restaurant. The staff came running back to let her out. They were very apologetic. I haven't dined here in a while, so I thought I'd see what they have been up to lately.
This restaurant is like a lot of old school Chinese restaurants, a large banquet hall type room with lots of table seating. With the ability to arrange their seating in different configurations, they are able to accommodate just about any size party. There was no waiting, our party was seated immediately.
We were served a complementary starter of Wonton chips with dipping sauce. The chips were crispy, and tasty especially with the dipping sauce. We ordered Crispy Fried Cod Fish Fillet with Spicy Salt, Sweet and Sour Pork, Eggplant with Hot and Spicy Garlic Sauce, and Orange Beef. The Eggplant was the first dish to arrive. It was extremely hot, but perfectly cooked. It was slightly firm, but soft, as it cooled down it became even softer. The hot and spicy garlic sauce gave it a lot of flavor. The Sweet and Sour Pork looked great on arrival. It had nicely battered and crisp pork pieces that were tossed in a classic sweet and sour sauce, the flavor is what you would expect, delicious. The fish pieces were crispy, moist, and flaky, flavored with spicy salt, and garnished with green onions and jalapenos. As for the Orange Beef, this version features battered pieces of beef fried crisp, tossed in an extremely flavorful, and citrusy orange sauce. This is a dish we get here every time we come. We ended our meal with some Egg Yolk Buns. The bun is similar to a bread roll, but stuffed with a deliciously creamy egg custard, and topped with a sweet crumbly crust. The combination of textures is fantastic. It's a not too sweet, thing to eat. The only issue is the fact that there is only bottled water. It's not a deal breaker, but it is an issue.
Service here was very friendly, and all the dishes came out in a timely manner. We found out the woman who sang opera was still working there. She was serving us. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience.

Food was amazing! We have been to this location in the Valley three times over the last couple of years. It can be a little noisy at times but other than that, this place serves some of the best Chinese food in this area.

Dated inside. I've been coming here since early 2000s. Quality on some food is not the same like the house special lobster which was a hit back in the day and main reason to come. Now still has dimsum 11a til 3p, still a good place for that. Pork chops with spicy salt and pepper still the same and very good place for this dish. Not greasy like others. Taste is consistent, fried crispy. Eat right away if you can. Friendly staff, accommodating too. Prompt service. This is a good option for Chinese food in the Granada Hills SFV area. I come from Ventura county for the pork chops, chicken feet dimsum item, char siu bao, sesame balls with sweet yellow bean paste filling, if that says something. They used to have big tanks full of fresh live seafood (crabs, lobster, fish) that you could pick out and they take it out clean and cook for you. That has long been gone. They used to have a well lit stage for when you had a big group. Not as many dimsum carts and ladies like they used to anymore. Not as bustling like back way before covid. But it's good place to get your chinese food craving and for certain dishes i prefer. One thing is consistent though: their prices have steadily gone up to ridiculous level. Demand for higher price and make sure you stay presentable in looks and ambiance as well. I invite my close family out of tradition but not the best option to entertain new friends just cause it looks dated inside, not all dishes are top quality anymore either.
Vegetarian options: Vegetable dishes on the menu
Dietary restrictions: Im sure they try their best. I say be very specific in what you order so they understand seafood shellfish, peanut restrictions. Not sure about other allergens.
Parking: Couple spots for disabled parking. Parking is shared in same complex as a bnk across from resto, vons, and other active shops in same lot so it can get tricky esp. during dimsum hours
Kid-friendliness: Enough room to accommodate stroller if you have one. Bustling during dimsum hours so the noise can drown out kid chaos, but if you have a sensitive sleeping one, it might be an issue. In its down times, 230p-3p and before closing, it can be quiet. Can still accommodate kids though.
Wheelchair accessibility: Ample areas around each table, a wheelchair can get through and wheel in and around, not hard to move tables to accommodate disabled. Tables are low enough for reach and accessibility.

DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY !!!Disappointed in this location I been doing to the one on Sherman way and reseda for years now but decided to go to this one on balboa and San Fernando mission. When I arrived I was ambushed by four employees asking me for drinks and some desserts they offer right away. Food at a weird taste like if they burnt the noodles I notify them and they did nothing won’t ever dine there again

The service was not bad, but my friends was extremely unhappy with the quality of the food.We went in expecting to have a hot meal(especially for the price), but the food came out way too fast & wasn't at all hot.
