My third or fourth visit to Hawks. I've never been disappointed, and tonight was a memorable experience. Party of four for early dinner. The mushroom soup amuse bouche was wonderful. White Fog Farm lettuce salad was (reportedly) excellent. The Caesar salad was tasty but the creamy dressing revealed it as an imitation Caesar (in my opinion); the saving grace was the white anchovy on top. (I am a Caesar salad purist and I am frequently unimpressed; woe is me.). Entrées: Duck--excellent! Short ribs--excellent! Steelhead--excellent! Lamb loin--excellent and more! Wine: Fair--a Tuscan red, good but overpriced for the quality. Dessert: We have had the "beignets" before--these are tasty enough but they are NOT in any sense beignets--just sugary doughnut holes with caramel sauce on the side. What they called an entremet might, in a pinch, be considered a "deconstructed" entremet--but an entremet it was not. The parts were, however, very good, if little more than a small mound of fond chocolate with cocoa nibs and a bit of white filling. We were very pleased with the unexpected serving of two extra dessert items, quartets of little chocolate dollops on shortbread and Sangria-infused gel cubes--very playful and delightful. Decent late-bottled vintage port and good tea and coffee. The service was spot on--absolutely top-notch. We were VERY pleased with service and atmosphere. Despite the scattered culinary contradictions, I say : Go to Hawks--time well spent.

My husband and I have enjoyed this restaurant for as long as it has been in existence in Granite Bay. It is clearly the best restaurant in the entire area, and perhaps the best in the area, including Sacramento. Obviously, we love this place and dine here often. Can’t recommend it enough!

Finally got to try this restaurant out after having their food at the Barrel House combo with Moksa Brewing. The food is top notch. The service is phenomenal with the servers being extremely knowledgeable of each plate served and very attentive without overdoing it.I highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic fancy dinner date night.

Dining here gives understanding to the vast differences one can experience between what I will now call "normal" food and a truly fine dining experience. Each bite bringing joyful flavor sensations, not just due to seasonings but the preparation and combination of the different ingredients. This goes down as one of my favorite meals to date!

For the first time I kind of hate leaving this review because this restaurant was so phenomenal. I don’t want anyone else to know how great it was. It might be too crowded and I can’t go. This was some of the best food I’ve ever had and first the service was incredible the water the water glass never got below half full, but the bread bowl never was empty. It was fantastic. These guys were on the ball. It was amazing watching the bus boys turntables they would spend several minutes straightening tablecloths, and then even ironing the creases out of the tablecloth so they looked perfectly. The food was fantastic. The appetizers were great the entrées everyone in my family had the best food that they had ever had. The desserts were incredible. I cannot believe I have not been to Hawks before they’ve been in business for 16 years and I won’t just be back. I’ll be back every week because this was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in Sacramento better than Ruth’s Chris better than the kitchen better than Morton’s better than ill Fernao. This is the place to be and I cannot believe I’ve missed this for all these years and I’ve got time I’ve got a make up ground and eat as often as I can at Hawksmy only regret here is that Google only lets me do five stars, because this place definitely deserves more
