So I must admit that I often forget about this establishment, even though it is only a couple of miles from where I lived when I first moved to CA. I actually work in the local wine industry and this place never disappoints. They have an eclectic selection of wines, their mark up is minimal and I often find a random bottle that exceeds my expectations.

My husband found this place and was so excited to take me there for wine tasting. But when we got there the owner loudly insulted my husband for smelling like smoke (he smoked outside), and no one provided any service to us. It was disheartening, I felt like I wanted to cry. I might try going back, and if the service improves I’ll change this review, but based on everything I’ve read and seen, the owner seems rude and discriminatory towards which customers he chooses to cater to.

Personally, I am appalled by the high rate of liquor this guy sells. It's at least 30 or 40% more expensive than raley's right down the street. The owner is not necessarily that polite. After one or two encounters, it's clear I will never be coming back to this store. Even though it's right around the corner from my house. Largely because of the dismissive attitude of the owner.
What an excellent store! I’m a big mezcal, scotch and whiskey guy and Lakeside has it all!! Highly recommend this store - it has a vast selection and great prices. The owner Sam is also very knowledgeable about wine and spirits and equally kind…he will take great care of you and make sure you leave with everything you need!

The wine selection at Lakeside Beverages will knock your socks off! They've got the best wines across the globe at unheard of prices. Before you leave with your purchase, I suggest unwinding and enjoying a tasting at the in-store wine and beer bar. Sam takes great pride in serving and delighting customers, and makes you feel like a family member from the moment you enter the store!

Yesterday evening we, once again, got the chance to sit and talk with them over a shared drink with friends and had a great time!Thank you so much for being so welcoming!Of course, the selection of spirits at Lakeside is second to none! So, I love this place been stopping back on the way home from the lake for years. A couple of weeks ago I picked up a six pack of craft beer chilled at the bar and felt very welcomed had a great chat and felt like this is gonna be a routine. The next week the owner told me I could buy beer but had to sit outside to drink it. He explained further that it was a wine bar and they were packed Friday's and Saturday's. He said he simply couldn't make enough profit on me to warrant having me sit in his empty bar. Then told me I was welcome to go sit outside. I told him, I didn't feel welcome and it was hot over 90 degrees at the time. So, I don't know what to think. I get that money is a key driver, but making people feel like that's all they represent is kind unpleasant . Also, why not just charge a corkage fee? Oh , and he also said they had beer on tap but wouldn't pour that during wine time. WTF, is this classist or just wine snobbery? I really don't know what to think.

Lots of hard to find wines and spirits, Sam the owner takes the time to understand what you enjoy and finds products that you may like according to your taste ,customer service is A+.Very pleasant atmosphere, the bar area is super cool , you can spend a nice day just sampling new arrivals , definitely a must visit .Thank you Sam !
