My group just exited Yosemite after a 3-day backpacking trip. We were looking for a hot, hearty, tasty meal and we found it! The Lucky Buck serves fat burgers, piles of fries, and everything else you'd expect from your favorite burger joint, with a side of Yosemite history. The Lucky Buck might look a little lonely since it is well east of Groveland, but the inside of the café is warm and welcoming.
Cafe and diner vibe, but all the food and service was excellent. We ate at Ahwahnee Lodge the night before and this was better. The Red and Blue burger (and veggie version) and pie al mode were superb.
Today (20/10/25) we stopped at Lucky Bucks Cafe on our way to spend the day in Yosemite National Park.
My partner and I had breakfast (avocado toast and french toast) which was delicious. The food was fresh and a great meal to start our day exploring.
We were served by Jessica who was friendly and attentive. She was very helpful giving us valuable local knowledge and advice for our day at Yosemite.
