We stumbled upon this gem on our way from Yosemite to Sacramento. We were a huge group of 23, and let me tell you, the staff and owner at Charlotte Taverns didn’t hesitate to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. Despite our large party, they were incredibly friendly and attentive. We sat outdoors in a charming area with music, lights, and games. The food was delicious! We had the pasta bolognese, the fried chicken, and the falafel wrap – all were fantastic! I highly recommend Charlotte Taverns for both the amazing food and outstanding service.

Very good food. Slightly on the pricy side but makes for a treat on our way out of Yosemite. Two minute walk from the Tesla superchargers. Great little beer garden hidden in the back. The owner is charming, outgoing, and kind. Would come back

Best meal of our visit to Yosemite. I’m still swooning over that pork chop. Kitchen is only open Thursday through Sunday. Menu changes seasonally. Expect to spend $25-30 for an entree (as of May 2024). Small upstairs balcony with three tables is dog-friendly.

Really amazing little gem in Groveland. We’ve been regulars in town since 1991 and I cannot remember having a better meal there. This small town benefits so much from having Charlotte’s Tavern, from feeding tourists delicious food to feeding the community with an incredibly generous meal ticket system, this place is worth supporting. Their unique cocktails are also fabulous! Highly recommend!

this place is lit in Groveland, very happening atmosphere! quiet pricey, I was not a fan of the food taste. Less vegetarian option, parking on the opposite side of the road near hotel .

Hands down the best pork chop I’ve ever had (sorry, mom). All around best meal I’ve had in a long time, too. Being an airline pilot, unfortunately, I have to eat out a lot. How I wish Charlotte’s tavern was on my normal routes!!

This place was exactly what a friend and I wanted after a long day hike at Hetch Hetchy. We ordered the Pence Farm Bread Basket, the Porterhouse Steak for 2, and a hot buttered rum.The bread came with this great butter that had a sweetness to it, the steak was a perfect medium rare with a chipotle bourbon sauce that had a nice kick, and the buttered rum was so good after being cold outside. We wanted to try the buttered pecan ice cream but they ran out that night. They also have this awesome system in which other generous individuals have paid forward meals for those less fortunate. The service itself while sitting was great, but the initial service you must walk to the counter to order your meals and proceed to seat yourself. Which really isn’t an issue, but when we had walked up to the counter and said hello the staff only replied with “wait one minute… what are you guys wanting”.

I grew up with a gourmet chef in the family and can say with confidence Charlotte’s Tavern is brimming with outstanding meals and drinks. Some of what we had throughout our week visit: Thanksgiving Dinner. Mushroom Risotto. Butternut Squash Soup topped with cranberries. Pork Chop in a gourmet sauce with herbed mashed potatoes. Tomato based Mushroom & Kale Soup with an Artisan Bread Basket & garlic/ herb gourmet butter. Coffee and Irish Cream. Spiced Rum (very smooth/ sweet). The experience was simply divine.
We stayed at the Hotel Charlotte after leaving Yosemite. It is a lovely historic hotel but what made it so great was the hospitality of the owner, Finn and the outstanding restaurant. The food and wine list were exceptional. You can eat inside or in their beer garden.
Horrible service! I would avoid this place like the plague! Whatever you do ....Do NOT leave an open tab!

I would come back from Boise just to eat here. Seriously some of the best food I’ve eaten in a restaurant. Delicious. The customer service was excellent also. Overall an excellent experience!!
Stopped here for dinner was greeted by a very nice man who told us all about the hotel, recommended beers and their dinner specials. They have a nice beer garden in the back but it was so hot out we opted to stay inside. Food was very good, so good that we came back another night for dinner only to be disappointed because they don't serve dinner every night! So I would call before going to make sure they are serving dinner!
Absolutely scrumptious dinner and libations. From Korean BBQ, Salmon Risotto, Lamb tacos to the Tavern Burger, their chef made sure everything was delicious. Beau and Gabby created tasty and tasteful drinks (Orange Creamsicle, Empress in a Spring Dress and everything in between). While they were busy as all get out, they were open, friendly and warm. Great place to eat and drink if you are staying in Groveland.
Great and consistent food, drinks and service. 5 stars!!!
My daughter, her husband and I enjoyed having dinner twice at Charlotte's Tavern while we were staying at the Hotel Charlotte and visiting Yosemite last October. The owner was very warm, hospitable and helpful, the food was very tasty, and the environment was cozy and pleasant.
