The absolute best experience. Do yourself a favor and skip all the big name wineries and visit this absolute gem of a place. Had the best time visiting with the owner, Mrs. Sue. So knowledgeable and hospitable. Wish I could have stayed longer. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend.

Visited Porter-Bass winery today on a whim: just google it, as I was passing it by on my way from a coastal hike back to the hotel. What a gem!
Sue, the owner, was serving her estate wines in a shade of a huge wallnut tree. I absolutely loved this concept, as (in my opinion) wines/wine making is not about some fancy tasting rooms, but it's about working the earth, and farming the grapes.
Porter Bass makes excellent Rhone style wines. Their chardonnay is light, elegant, without that overbearing oaky/butter taste. Truly french style!
Their Pinot is excellent.
Thank you for a wonderful time at your estate and great quality of wine that I will cherish at home (bought some Pinot, Chard, Cab).

Went on a Sunday and it was such a relaxing experience. We sat outside and the weather was perfect and the wine was delightful. Ended up purchasing two of the cabs as well as olive oil. Highly recommend.

Beautiful family-run winery with great wines, gorgeous scenery, and amazingly kind people! Highly worth a visit. The tasting was very intimate, so we got to learn a lot about the family, the property, and the area. If you’re looking for a peaceful way to spend the afternoon, look no further!

Feels like you're sitting at a friend's house sipping really good wine. If you like down to earth, real people who appreciate the land they're on and have a passion for the products they make go here. We've been twice, both times we've visited the area and it is, hands down, the best wine tasting we've had. Thank you Sue.

Just go! This was by far our favorite winery we visited in Russian River area. We felt invited and cared for. The vineyard itself is gorgeous and tucked away. The wines are stellar. Can’t say enough good things. Oh, and there were cows!

Finally opened their Pinot from 2020, no joke, one of the better Pinot noirs I’ve had in a long time. it was light and peppery. Enough blush to let you know that it came from and was handled by individuals that care about their craft. Going to the winery, you don’t get a huge hullabaloo, or glitzy glam, like you would from the the Disneyland, wineries of today’s Sonoma and Napa, counties, but something of more of a throwback of yesteryear, When it was more about the grape, and less about the show. I would recommend this winery to anyone who likes to take a road less traveled. The journey will reward you well.
