Just go! This was by far our favorite winery we visited in Russian River area. We felt invited and cared for. The vineyard itself is gorgeous and tucked away. The wines are stellar. Can’t say enough good things. Oh, and there were cows!
Finally opened their Pinot from 2020, no joke, one of the better Pinot noirs I’ve had in a long time. it was light and peppery. Enough blush to let you know that it came from and was handled by individuals that care about their craft. Going to the winery, you don’t get a huge hullabaloo, or glitzy glam, like you would from the the Disneyland, wineries of today’s Sonoma and Napa, counties, but something of more of a throwback of yesteryear, When it was more about the grape, and less about the show. I would recommend this winery to anyone who likes to take a road less traveled. The journey will reward you well.
Enjoy wine and stories of the area underneath a tree. Wonderful experience and on a must do list for anyone looking for a relaxed no pressure experience
Very chill tasting experience. Great wine.
We really enjoyed sitting under the walnut tree learning about the delicious organic wines produced here. It's an unpretentious and genuine wine tasting experience with the owner, Sue.
I’ve been a couple times now and it’s a real stand out in the area. Such well made organic wines. I always make it a point to stop by.
Love the wine. Loved sharing stories with Sue. Very casual atmosphere.
Honest, no frills, family owned vineyard which only sells direct. If you want quality wine without gimmicks which you won't find in a gas station, come here. Owner provides pleasant, candid, and personable conversation while you wine taste.
Gorgeous vineyard. Lovely owner. Amazing wines
Great wine, Sue is wonderful, will definitely be back

Sue couldn’t be nicer. Beautiful property and delicious, honest wines.
Enjoyed several wines. The setting is bucolic and our host pleasant and very knowledgeable about the biodynamic wine production process.
What a fantastic hidden gem! Sue, the owner, is a fabulous wine tasting guide and human. She spent over an hour sitting with us and chatting about the 45 years she and her family have spent tending to the land and growing their biodynamic wines. It turns out she was born in NJ (as am I!), and we exchanged many stories. Of course, the wines were unbelievable in their own right. The wines lean towards dry, savory, and rich with flavor. The views of the farm while we had the wine tasting were 11/10. I highly recommend making a stop at Porter-Bass!
This place was the most unique wine tasting experience I’ve had. Not fancy, no drama, just a vineyard with a few chairs and decent wine. Sue the host, is the sweetest. She has two cows on the property and couples her knowledge of wine with her simplicity to provide a truly memorable experience. Recommend the Chardonnay and olive oil.
Very out of the way but a perfect place for a private tasting! The wines we tasted (6) were excellent and the owner was great! We liked the Chardonnay and the Cab. Be sure to call and schedule your appointment in advance - Recommend!
