Tacos El Grullo used to be one of my go-to spots as a teen—great food at a great price. Unfortunately, it’s not the same anymore. A couple of months ago, I ordered tripas tacos and paid extra for them to be crispy, but they came out extremely soggy. I decided to give it one more shot today, but it only confirmed how far the place has fallen.
We ordered 11 tacos and 2 drinks—$50 after all the excessive charges for every little add-on. At least the tripas were crispy this time, but the Al pastor was completely bland, with zero flavor.
To make things worse, my toddler put $0.75 into the vending machine for a toy, and after it ate her money, the staff refused to give her the coins back. And when we asked about drink refills, one employee said yes, only for another to come over and try to charge nearly $3 for a refill.
Sad to see a place that used to mean something go downhill like this. Not sure I’ll be back again.

By far the driest tacos I've had, it's like of you would make tacos in your house not on the grill but pan frying the meat and heating up tortillas and cutting your own onions and cilantro, same ingredients but it's just missing something, although your home made tacos may taste better not to mention their red sauce that taste like that old candy powder Lucas , service was slow with me being the only customer their, we t on a Saturday 7pm I took a bite as soon as I got them, but my search continues for that San Diego taco taste ?

Customer service poor, I went in there to buy but my 4year needed to go restroom bad and I asked the cashier if they had a restroom she said yes, you have to be a customer and buy something and I told her I'am buying something and then she said go outside the restroom out there and I did but it was locked , she did not ever told me I needed keys for the restroom because of that reason my son was sad because the lady didn't let him use the restroom and went in his pants so, I hope next time they don't judge someone else like she did to me thinking I wasn't going to buy something, it's sad that I will not ever go there again ?

I Asked for a breakfast burrito and cashier showed me the clock that said 11:00am and said they stop breakfast at 11:00am. I asked if clock said 10:59 would he make burrito and he said yes. I walked out without ordering anything else. I had waited at the counter about 5 minutes before cashier (Fernando) arrived.

The meat has very little flavor and way too much fat. I stop going here for that reason. I told them I don’t like how much fat than meat I get and they said they’d fix it. Well, that was a lie and I’d just threw away the money I spent for dinner. Will never recommend anyone to go back here.
