I've had this place saved for a while now and finally got a chance today.

Stopped by for lunch and the place just opened a little bit after 1100. Not really a hidden gem since it is located off a very busy street corner of Lomita Blvd. and Normandie. I say a hole in the wall, but don't let the outside fool you.

The gentleman, (owner) greeted me with a warm welcome as I walked in. Small dining area but is very clean and organized.

I ordered the Braised Pork Belly Bento and Oyster Omelet. The pork belly is tender, juicy, and flavorful. The bento comes with tofu, vegetables, and eggs. My only complaint was the portion size, I needed more since it was so good. The oyster omelet is tasty and authentic with enough oyster good for one. Everything tasted amazing, but I reserved the 5 Stars ? later. I need to try other dishes on the menu.

Parking is very tight and difficult. Limited street parking is available.

This hole in the wall Taiwanese food is so surprised ? and authentic, no joke it’s authentic! And good! If you know what’s Taiwanese food is then you’ll so happy you tried them food ! ! Even if you’re in Taiwan you can’t find food this good often. We had large intestine, stinky tofu , oyster omelette, smoked pork tongue, braised pork rice and braised beef noodle. As an authentic Asian I have to say all of them ~so authentic and satisfied. Especially the large intestine is so tender and no stinky flavor at all! which is so enjoyable! So amazing!? order at here 2 times, the food always satisfied, you have to go and try. By the way the chef ?‍? (he is the owner) he was an engineer when he was in Taiwan. And his red sauce is also really good ?.

As a Taiwanese person, this is by far the most authentic Taiwanese food I've ever had in America!!

This hidden gem with an unassuming exterior serves such delicious and fresh food. A literal mom and pop establishment with the nicest owners, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Catherine is super friendly and will make you feel at home, and Chef Kevin really knows the flavors of Taiwan and faithfully recreates them. One example is the Oyster Omelet - here its got the starch that so many other Taiwanese restaurants in America skip, tastes just like you got it from a night market in Taipei.

Everything we've had here is amazing, from the perfectly spiced braised pork rice to the MUST order fried tofu. The sauces are all made in house and are so flavorful, and unlike other restaurants that rely on MSG to flavor all their foods such that all the dishes end up tasting the same, this restaurant uses no MSG!!

If you've never had Taiwanese food, come here and give it a try and see why Taiwan is voted as one of the best places to travel for food. If you've had Taiwanese food before, come here and satisfy your craving with the real deal.

Me and a friend passed by and bought food here. We ordered 2 plates: chicken and rice and chicken and chow mein. It took them a while to prepare but once home food did not look fresh. Once home we realized there were only 3 tiny pieces of chicken. We were hungry and ate the food anyway. This food upset both our stomachs! Will not buy from here again. Save your time and money and find a better place.

my first time here. I've been driving by this place while doing Instacart batches and have always been curious about their offerings. can't say it's a hidden gem because it's really highly visible at the corner of Lomita and Normandie, but parking could be a challenge.only tried the veg chow mein and a tofu dish but both were very good. also, very friendly and welcoming. the lady owner (?) chatted with me while my order was being prepared and gave me some iced tea. this is in stark contrast to Sue's Kitchen on nearby Crenshaw, where you doubt if they want people to come in.it's a small place, so dining in could be problematic during peak hours. there's a sign that says combo meals are temporarily unavailable. would have been nice to see their offerings spread out in steaming trays.a bit pricey; paid $20 + for both dishes plus tip. but will definitely come back. when I collected my order, the owner gave me a complimentary iced tea, "for your wife". nice touch.I'm reserving a 5 star rating for when I sample some more of their menu.
