Couple of thoughts regarding the bbq at KINSmoke - as a Texan with a lot of experience eating brisket I feel comfortable with commenting. The brisket flavor was good but the meat itself was very dry which diminished the experience. \n\nThe sauces were very good however that isn’t the best approach to address dry meat. \n\nOn the plus side the baked beans and the cole slaw were very good. \n\nI’m guessing that coming earlier in the day may help with the quality of the brisket.

There needs to be a way to give them six stars! The kin sauce is unreal and the bourbon lavender sour is sex in a glass and vegan (no egg white)! The service was superior. I'll be here on repeat.

Finally made it here on the drive up towards Mendocino and had a nice BBQ takeout meal to sit and eat at the park across the street (since they no longer have their own parklet patio). The hush puppies were amazing and one of our favorites. The brisket was very very good! Definitely worth a stop if you're already passing through, but wouldn't go out of the way to have again. And the mac and cheese was good - more creamy than cheesy.
