This is the gem of the city of Hercules. The food is always solidly good. The bi bim bop is my favorite, but it is hard to find anything I don't like. The service is efficient and friendly. I really enjoy this neighborhood restaurant!

Food was fine but the lady working barely did anything and got mad at the tip that I left. She told me to add more onto the tip - who does that? Please do NOT eat at this establishment unless you want to get

It's been a while since I came to this restaurant. From what I recalled previously, the food was just so so, but they certainly surprised me today.I had the beef and seafood soondobu (tofu soup) for lunch today, extra spicy, and I was very impressed by the flavor of the soup/broth! I did wish that there was more beef in my soup, but the flavor of the dish was quite rich and perfectly seasoned! We also had the kimchi pancake and it was a good size and filled with kimchi! (Not just flour!) Price wise I thought it was reasonable $15.95 for my tofu soup that came with rice and I think the kimchi pancake was $13.95 and it was plenty to share! I would certainly come back to try their food again.

Great Korean food! Im 1/2 Korean, and grew up eating Korean food 3-4 times a week, Jumping Spoon is authentic like momma used to make.

This is a great place for a small group to gather. Several of my friends met here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon; it wasn't very busy and we were seated right away. There is a lot of natural light from one wall of windows, but there was no direct sunlight hitting us; not sure if that is the case all the time. The restaurant is below some apartments in Hercules and it was easy to find parking; there is a 2 hour time limit for (free) street parking, but that was plenty of time for us all to arrive, eat, chat and leave in a leisurely manner. The food was very tasty; I ordered the vegetable tofu stew (photo has been uploaded), two of my friends ordered the teriyaki chicken (boxed lunch, not sure exactly what it was called) and another friend ordered the grilled chicken (boxed lunch, same as above). We all were very satisfied with our choices. I was able to ask for mild spices for my tofu stew, which was good because I cannot handle a lot of spiciness. The prices are reasonable and the amount of food was "just right"; none of us took anything home. The waitress was attentive and took care to refill our water pitchers as needed and clear away our empty plates in a timely manner. We all enjoyed ourselves and see this as a place we would come back to at some point in the future.

The food was mid. I liked that we got some banchan even though we ordered to go. Spicy pork bulgogi (3/5)This dish not very spicy and not as flavorful as other places I've tried. It has been one of the better options on the menu though. Chicken nuggets (1/5)They were very hard to chew. Not your traditional nuggets. The taste was similar to General Tso chicken. Rice cakes (2/5)These were also hard to eat. I think I might have waited too long? The soupy part was good and the egg was good, but the cakes themselves were too tough and they don't hold up over several hours. Service (3/5)Wasn't the best I ever had but they weren't the worst. The website also indicates that you can order online but I was never able to verify my email even though I'm super sure I typed it correctly. Ambiance (4/5)The place is clean. Even with groups of people in there, it doesn't get very noisy. They have a darker theme going on.

When it's good... It's really good! But for some reason, the chef always has an off day. The food is not consistent. Sometimes, the Gal bi is delicious about 4 out of 5 times! Other times... It's burnt and chewy. Sometimes the tofu pork soup is the best thing ever! Other times... It's bland and the meat tastes old. Sigh.. we will still come here though. Hopefully they will improve their consistency in food quality. The waitstaff here are always friendly. There's rarely a wait and the food price is standard.

I will recommend the owner of this restaurant to not be so stingy and hire more people to take care the costumers the costumer service was absolutely awful!! And food was average. If you want a really Korean food (GangNam Tofu) it’s the place.
