Hennessey’s Tavern has an excellent location and a great ocean view — unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.
The service was mediocre at best, but the real problem is the food. It was genuinely bad.
How do you mess up French fries? Easy — drown them in oil. How do you ruin wings? Drown them in oil and strip away all flavor. How do you destroy sliders? Same thing — greasy, tasteless, and poorly executed.
Everything we ordered was excessively oily, heavy, and bland. No seasoning, no balance, no care. It felt like frozen bar food rushed straight from the fryer to the plate.
This place relies entirely on its location, because the food absolutely does not justify eating here. Hermosa Beach has so many better options within walking distance.
Huge disappointment. Don’t go.

We were in for a SoFi NFL game. We hit the Manhattan Beach location Sat night ( lively college scene). Sunday brunch for Foorball games. Sat downstairs for brunch. Met the mgr. Jack who was most personable and conversational, a Boston transplant! Rooftop featured Amy behind the bar, also a pleasure. Recommended by a NY restaurant owner.

Hermosa Beach Police have done little to resolve the e-bike threats and attacks. They blame the victims and are slow to respond and charge the bikers. I no longer feel safe in Hermosa Beach and will dine and shop elsewhere.

I had a great experience here. Rony the manager opened 2 hours early so I could watch the Broncos play early in the morning in England and he even brought in donuts. Thanks again Amigo!
