My friend and I went for brunch on Saturday. Great experience in a cozy restaurant close to the beach. No view but great service, food and ambiance. We ate on the rooftop area but inside looked cute too. Server was nice and available but manager Tony went above and beyond to take care of us. Food was tasty annd yummy ice cream for bday surprise. Overall wonderful time. My friend already reserved to come back in the next couple weeks with out of town visitors.
We had such a phenomenal experience at Slay. The upstairs outdoor area is adorable. Super cozy benches and was the perfect spot for dinner with my girlfriends. We got the bacon wrapped scallops to start and they were excellent. I had the Sunday prime rib special, and it was a lot of food for $45. Alex was our server and he was fantastic. Very attentive and had great suggestions for items on the menu.
The food is very tasty and the atmosphere is very pleasant!

Very small - tables close together if you plan on having private conversations. Biggest downside is the no "real" alcohol due to not having a full liquor license. This is the primary reason I likely won't be back. The cinnamon roll we shared was delish (and the omelette was also very good!)
We had a big group for brunch (25ish) and they were beyond accommodating, reserving the whole first floor just for us. Great service. Food was amazing and beautifully presented. Excited to try it for dinner sometime!

perfect! we had a family lunch there. Our server was charming and the food was delicious! Loved the lunch/brunch menu. The decor and atmosphere are top notch!
What a find at Slay! We started with bacon wrapped scallops that were cooked perfect and had a delicious honey sauce. For dinner we had the bone in pork chop that was a 10/10 in every way. I enjoyed the orecchiette shrimp pasta that was layered in flavors and delicious shrimp. 10/10 for atmosphere, food, and service. Hilario was absolutely fantastic in taking care of us. This will be a new regular spot for me as the entire menu is a beautiful mix of dishes that allows you to mix it up.
The food was pretty average. The pork was overcooked - we told the waitress and she gave us a chocolate bomb to make up for it… so we paid for the less than half eaten overcooked pork chop and received a chocolate bomb for the $40+… decided to ultimately take it home and feed it to our toddler because we might as well not throw away $40+. The chocolate bomb was pretty bad but I don’t prefer chocolate desserts so someone might like it.
We got the bacon scallops, the steak sandwich and the pork chop and my son got the pasta with red sauce. They all were okay. I expected more based on the other ratings.

Slay is the perfect name for this restaurant, as it slays on all accounts! I went for the first time for Sunday brunch with a group of 11 other women and the service Tony and the other servers provided was attentive and friendly, the bottomless mimosas were a hit, the view from the rooftop patio was beautiful, and everyone loved their food! I had the Lobster Benedict, which was delicious, and I’ll surely be back to check out more of the menu when I’m back in town.

Tony and Tatum were the best they were very attentive and friendly. They brought us refill and asked us if we needed anything every chance they got. Definitely coming back just because of their hospitality. Food was ACTUALLY good. Breakfast platter and breakfast bowls were divine

Slay Hermosa has a nice brunch for a fair price. I like how it is smaller and quaint close to the beach. Inside and outside on the patio is pretty quiet so when you have a large group, you can hear each other speak which is important to me. Service is very friendly, attentive and timely. I highly recommend this restaurant for brunch.
Darling little bistro in Hermosa Beach. They offer indoor, outdoor, and rooftop seating. There were 5 of us in our party. Each person thoroughly enjoyed their chosen meal. The smash burger was excellent as was the pear martini. We would definitely return.
First time there, very pleasantly surprised. Small place from the outside but you go in and elegantly decorated for the holidays. Food was amazing, service impeccable. Enjoyed a beautiful evening and highly recommend!
Our food and service was absolutely outstanding. The calamari was so tender and the breaded sole was scrumptious. We will definitely return. The ambience was just okay with the upstairs shutters closed. Being up there on a nice warm night with open shutters would be much more inviting. The downstairs area ambience does not fit the menu. The menu was superb!
