Slay Hermosa has a nice brunch for a fair price. I like how it is smaller and quaint close to the beach. Inside and outside on the patio is pretty quiet so when you have a large group, you can hear each other speak which is important to me. Service is very friendly, attentive and timely. I highly recommend this restaurant for brunch.
Darling little bistro in Hermosa Beach. They offer indoor, outdoor, and rooftop seating. There were 5 of us in our party. Each person thoroughly enjoyed their chosen meal. The smash burger was excellent as was the pear martini. We would definitely return.
First time there, very pleasantly surprised. Small place from the outside but you go in and elegantly decorated for the holidays. Food was amazing, service impeccable. Enjoyed a beautiful evening and highly recommend!
Our food and service was absolutely outstanding. The calamari was so tender and the breaded sole was scrumptious. We will definitely return. The ambience was just okay with the upstairs shutters closed. Being up there on a nice warm night with open shutters would be much more inviting. The downstairs area ambience does not fit the menu. The menu was superb!
Tatum and Tony were excellent! They were attentive, engaged, and wonderful. The menu is a broad collection of ideal brunch options and the patio was perfect for a weekend experience.
SLAY is easily one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. Tony and the entire team are absolutely incredible so kind, so attentive, and genuinely pure souls. The hospitality here feels personal every single time. We make it a point to come at least once a month, and it's always the first place we take guests. It's especially a must-visit whenever my father-in-law is in town he loves it just as much as we do. The chef is consistently outstanding, and you can feel the care in every dish. Great flavors, great energy, and always a great experience. A place that never misses. Highly, highly recommend.
Super friendly staff and phenomenal food. The location cannot be better than this - you can walk straight to the beach after your meal. We arrived about 40 minutes earlier than the reservation time and our table was already ready. Thanks.
I'd been here once before, was pretty good. This time around the food was borderline inedible. The flavor combinations were terrible, it wasn't cooked particularly well, and service was friendly, but infrequent and nothing to write home about. All-in-all, don't think I'll be coming back.
We went in for Sunday Brunch and ordered from the breakfast/lunch menu. We ordered the Calamari, Vermont Maple Cinnamon Roll, Breakfast Bowl, Lobster Benedict, Broiche French Toast and Slay Steak Sandwich. Everyone at the table made "yum" noises when trying their dishes. The front of house staff were great and provided excellent service. Checked on us on a regular basis; Cleared plates when we done; Made sure our drinks were filled. It was a great dining experience. The inside was small but extremely well furnished and had good deco. They do have an upstairs for more seating but I did not personally see it.
Came here last night with my wife for my birthday — it was okay. We've been in Hermosa for almost 10 years and have been to all the local spots on pier so we thought we'd give something new a try (tiki Kai isn't open yet, that was our first choice). The food at Slay was good. Nothing incredible but it tasted good and looked nice. We got the Parker rolls, tuna plate and baked burrata. Three starters and already at $70. My wife got the grilled cheese and I got the burger which both were good but not worth another $60. Service was not great despite there being three small tables inside and two servers. We waited a while to order drinks and between starters and mains. Waitress was nice enough but she could have been more on her game. Overall, it was pretty good. We probably will not be back based on the value. $150 for a few staters, grilled cheese and a burger. Maybe this is what inflation feels like.

Our dinner and evening at Slay Hermosa Beach was wonderful: drinks, food, service, and atmosphere. We look forward to having a wonderful brunch sometime on the roof patio. Lovely.
The young host were cold and unwelcoming. The wait staff and kitchen staff starred at us . It was so uncomfortable and unwelcoming we left right after getting our food. We would've lingered longer ordering dessert and drinks but the Customer Service was awful. The best thing in the entire place besides the cinnamon roll was Matthew. He was great! That was my 5th time going there. I usually went on Saturday. I think this was my last time. I have too many options to be treated with such poor service.
They only serve wine. I prefer hard liquor but the food was great and the service was good.
Second time visiting, and still such a lovely and charming restaurant! The servers are consistently friendly and helpful, which makes the experience even better. I especially love their Thick Cut Bacon, Parker Rolls, fresh salads, and all the seafood dishes with risotto — every one has been delicious. Can't wait to come back again!
After the LA Chargers/Denver Broncos football game on Sunday we decided to go to dinner. Not knowing where to go that was near our friend's hotel in Redondo Beach, trusty OpenTable landed a tremendous find! Slay Hermosa is incredible! The food was divine and service was #1. I'm so sorry to not recall our waiter; however, he was engaging and very attentive. Every dish we ordered was wonderful. The appetizers were the Grilled Peach & Burrata and Bacon-Wrapped Scallops, and the entrees were the amazing Bone-in Pork Chops, Filet of Sole, Ribeye, and Shrimp Pasta. I'm spinning thinking about this place and it's definitely on our "Must Return" list!
