Evening food is INCREDIBLE - like you’re in Italy. People are wonderful, especially the GM and head waiter. They make you feel very welcome. Only complaints - no vintages on wine list, no corkage. Food and wine list is also overpriced. And while I complain about the bill every time I come here, we go back. Because the food is incredible, the people are wonderful and you feel like you’re not in Hermosa Beach, but transported to somewhere else.

Getting a cappucino here was the highlight of my day during our stay at Hermosa. Delicious drinks, super chill and friendly staff and the croissants are to die for! The vibes and atmosphere are immaculate. Cheers from Bulgaria

Top notch service. A little dark inside but nice none the less. Small and quite dinning area which was very welcomed. Food was great. Octopus salad was quite delicate in flavors, octopus cooked very well. Gnocchi with lobster was phenomenal. Carbonara was a good alternative if not wanting sea food. Bith had a good amount of meat.. The tiramisu was some of the best I ve ever had.

Exceptional experience all-around from beginning to end! Everything was excellent, but the gnocchi with lobster and the tiramisu were the best I’ve ever had. I look forward to returning soon!

My husband and I love coming here for special occasions. The prices are high, but worth it for the unique flavors. This is not Americanized Italian food. This is very authentic Italian food. The servers were also authentic Italians along with accents. We shared the yellowtail crudo, the spaghetti and mullet eggs, and the lamb. The food was amazing!! The service was great.

My first time at this restaurant will definitely be my last.Decor and atmosphere are only ok. They're not bad, they're not great. For a restaurant with prices as high as Sosta's (very high, even for Hermosa Beach), I expect much more effort and better execution in this aspect. The manager/host is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food and wine were good, not great. For the price, I'd say they were a slight letdown. I have higher expectations for a restaurant in the price range of Sosta. What earned Sosta a one-star review was the unfathomably disrespectful and unforgivably inappropriate behavior of their mustachioed server. My girlfriend brought me to this restaurant. She lives in the area and has dined here many times. Like I mentioned- this was my first time at Sosta. At first, our server seemed incredibly friendly. He was extraordinarily welcoming and attentive. This lasted his first 2-3 visits to our table. After that, his behavior very quickly became extremely intrusive, unbelievably disrespectful and exhausting. After his second visit to our table, he began to act like I didn't exist. A 50/50 distribution of his attentiveness, conversation and eye contact very quickly became a 100% / 0% distribution. At first I thought it was funny. I jokingly remarked to my girlfriend, "you know he's in love with you right?" She laughed and said yes, he flirts with her every time she dines there. Which is understandable- she is objectively beautiful and charming. His flirting is fine as long as it doesn't bother her and she isn't there on a date. The problem this time is she was on a date and his behavior was bothering her and me.But the dude kept unnecessarily coming to our table and lustily focusing 100% of his gaze and attention on my girlfriend (Not exaggerating about the nature of his gaze. I wouldn't have been surprised if the creep started rubbing his junk while standing in front of us or whipped it out and pissed on my girlfriend to mark his territory. He was that blatant. It was that ridiculous). And he kept coming to our table. Over and over and over again. The ridiculously extreme and unnecessary frequency of his visits quickly went from funny and flattering to egregiously intrusive and unacceptably disrespectful. After an hour of Don Juan's d-bag antics we left. We never even got to our entrees. There's no way in hell I'm paying $400-500 for us to be treated so absurdly disrespectfully by anyone in any restaurant, let alone one as expensive as Sosta. The manager seemed genuinely concerned about our leaving early but I didn't have the energy or desire to talk to him about what a scumbag POS Don Juan the waiter is. It's not like we're ever going back to that restaurant anyway.TLDR- Good, but overpriced food and wine. Meh decor and atmosphere. Amazingly friendly manager. Legitimately scum of the earth mustachioed waiter who should be fired before he runs off any more patrons.

Dear Yelp Community,First time visiting yesterday! Wonderful, because of the simple beautiful, coffee venue (in the morning) by the beach; then turns into a restaurant later. I only experienced the coffee component. The owner, Luca, is Italian (from Italy), and I appreciated meeting him.Thank you, Chris, for the coffee!Sincerely,Anna

The ambiance of this restaurant is top notch. It is like being in someone's home, just wonderful. Our waiter was excellent and kind, that part was just outstanding.I think what bothered me the most was the menu prices for what you get. I ordered pasta with lobster, and for $45 I would expect A LOT more lobster than a claw and some tiny pieces in the sauce, which honestly was not that remarkable taste-wise. We also ordered the fish, which was good but also not remarkable enough to pay $50. I honestly debated writing this review because we did have such a nice time. If money is no object go for it. I will go somewhere else next time.

Excellent food punctuated by some of the best gnocchi I've had, matched with a professional yet friendly staff. A hidden gem.
