Our stay at the Stock Farm Inn began with such high hopes. We had stopped for a coffee on a previous drive through Hopland, felt a good vibe, and decided to return for a stay, visit the wineries, test the restaurants.Bad choice.CHECKING INOur stay began with a game of Hide-and Seek with the elusive staff. There were posted signs with buried hints on how to find them. It took several attempts to catch one and, when we did, we won the keys to the room.I am 72 years old, my wife 66. All the suites are upstairs. There are no elevators. (There was an elevator cloaked behind a curtain tagged out-of-order) .Hate when that happensIt took 23 steps to reach the summit with our bags in tow.Winded and exhausted on my third and final trip to the top of the stairs a voice rang out, “Do you need any help?” Geez….This place is out if you are 65+ and value your life (or own a portable heart defibrillator). Olympians and marathon runners only!SUITEWe booked The Lawson Room (Room 200). Our first impression was very good. A large room, spacious, high ceilings…..then all hell broke loose. The TV did not respond to the remote. After another game of Hide-and-Seek I found an employee (Caleb?) in the kitchen. Great kid, way too many responsibilities. The TV would only work if you unplugged it from the back and reset the darn thing. It was the only way you could get the TV to talk to the cable box. Caleb did not understand why but …”that’s just the way it is.”The bathroom was hellish. Before even starting our adventure we discovered pee stains in front of the toilet (not mine!). After a few minutes of running the water BOTH bathroom sinks backed up. There was a constant drip in the shower due to a bad seal of some kind. We had to place a wash rag over the shower drain to muffle the dripping noise. We could not find an on/off switch/button to operate the spa tub. We just passed up the option. I had enough of playing Hide-and-Seek for one day. Needed to save my strength for the next day. After tucking ourselves into bed the first night my wife said, “Look at that.” “Look at what?” She was pointing to a cobweb that not only covered the entire dome of side table lamp but the web attached itself all the way up to the 10-12 foot ceiling.“What size spider built that thing?”There was no second night.

This was such a treat and n a small Northern California town. Given the town is about three blocks, I had tampered my expectations. And, this place exceeded expectations I’d have in major cities. The food was fresh! Fresh! We ordered a wood fired pizza from the oven that they purchased from Spain, fire roasted vegetables and their hand cut fries. The figs on the pizza were fresh and in season from their orchard and the crust was perfectly crisp. The fire roasted veggies came with a roasted red pepper and walnut sauce made in house fresh and buratta from a local farm. The veggies were summer squash, broccolini, baby carrots, and brussel sprouts all cooked, perfectly. The house cut fries were perfect. We finished the meal with chilled pears in season from their orchard. Finally, our server was engaged and happy. He actually enjoyed his job which was so refreshing!

Outstanding service from the handle bar mustache waiter. Pizza was excellent, truly a hidden gem place!

I have meant to write a review for YEARS, and now it seems reviews are tied to rooms now that the Stock Farm monicker has replaced Campovida, so caveat…I live way to close to stay here, my review is for the restaurant only. Have never had a shaky experience here, even when we diverted my parents away from The Broiler (come on Boomer…)and made them go here. Ingredients are always fresh and wonderfully prepared. The pizza os always excellent and we have had them all (please bring back the peachy pig next year- LOVED that one). The fire roasted veggie platter, we get it every time….and the beer always ice cold and well selected. That said, even with excellent food all the time, the one constant through all the changes and all the years is the fellow that greeted us the first time we walked through the door with “Hey folks, what can I get you?”We eat out a lot…and stopped during the plague. Locked inside we asked each other what do we miss? Marty. Hands down. Best server we have ever dined with. The guy is amazing. It is totally worth it to eat here and see what really good at your job looks like. Went Sunday, need to go back every Sunday. Thanks Marty!

We each had an excellent pizza for lunch, but one would have been enough for the two of us. Mine was an all-meat pizza anchovies and Mary's was the mushroom. Both the food and service were excellent. As a side note the owner must have spent tens of millions renovating both the Thatcher hotel and the restaurant. The place is beautiful.

They did not have any hot beverages,ie coffee & tea. They provided hot water which we took because we were cold from the winter weather outside. It was 45min. with food arrival, though we did have a party of 10. No real complaints with the food, burgers and pizzas were good, fries on the cold side apparently. The separate room with door for larger groups was nice & private.

Initially made reservations for lunch via Tock for noon, was running a bit late, and they were very accommodating. Had and great lunch, and returned later for dinner, which was equally great. Food (locally sourced whenever possible), Campovida wine, atmosphere, and service were all excellent!!! Stock Farm, Campovida Wine Tasting Room, and Thatcher Hotel are all one complex, so super convenient.

My wife and I stop here for lunch every time we drive from Eureka to the Bay Area and back and this place has some of the best pizza you'll ever eat. Hopland is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it town on 101 but do yourself a favor and stop at Stock Farm located in the CampoVida building. Service is fast and friendly, the food is great and reasonably priced..the beer is cold (if you've ever been through Hopland in July, you know how welcome that is)....a great oasis on a somewhat empty stretch of 101. We look forward to going back.

We've been meaning to check out campo vida/stock farm for a while... I'm so glad we did today. Sarah was so inviting and kind. Totally knowledgeable about the wine (which we took four bottles home). We live in sonoma county and know good wine when we taste it. But ultimately the experience as well as the wine made for the best day. Not to mention the food, we took Sarah's recommendation on the fire roasted veggies and burrata as well as the focaccia and balsamic. Holy (expletive)!! So freaking good. Especially with the wine. Can't wait to come back!
