Three of us ordered the lamb chop, it was inedible. Did not feel like “fine dining.”

Three of us had a wonderful dinner at Rock Seas. We started with a peach, tomato and lettuce salad with a perfect vinaigrette. I had delicious scallops and fabulous crispy brussels sprouts. My wife loved her fried chicken and the hand cut fries were truly outstanding. Our friend had a perfect meal based around locally raised lamb. Two great desserts. Flourless very dark chocolate cake with ice cream and gluten free mini donuts. Can’t wait to return.
Shout out to Humboldt Cider Company for their cherry cider.

Such a wonderful experience and the best part of all was the local knowledge from the owner who helped with amazing plans for us while visiting the area! Thank you so much!

Food was just ok. For the price of 54$ dollars the steak frites shouldn't be super chewy and the polenta dish was uninspiring.

Visiting the area from out of town -- I'll start with the positives.: great cocktails, local wines, a terrific charcuterie board, and excellent french fries. Our waitress was very kind and checked on us several times during the evening. For us, the biggest letdown was the the quality of our entrees. While they serve local farm fresh meat, I found my steak to be incredibly tough. My husband ordered the shrimp & grits -- he also found his shrimp to be very tough. In our opinion, the quality of the food did not live up to the menu prices. We ordered the chocolate torte for dessert -- it was delicious, but very small. While its clear that there this is a family friendly establishment, the restaurant staff had a small child that was very loud through the duration of the meal -- if you're looking for a chance to get away from the kids and have some peace and quiet, this probably isn't the venue.

So happy we stopped in this place for dinner on our road trip. Such an amazing place, seriously the food was fantastic. We wish this place was in SF so we could eat there more often. The best service too, sweetest family running this place. Will always stop here when in Hopland! Get the pork chops and muscles!

The service was amazing! It seemed like the staff were the owners, super friendly people, and their little toddler was adorable. The food we ordered unfortunately was not so great, especially for the price. The presentation was beautiful, but3 of our seafood dishes were overcooked and super chewy, and "nanas chicken" was cooked to perfection, but zero flavor.Cozy atmosphere, small amount of seating inside but reservations are available . There is a bar inside and tables outside to enjoy on a summers night.
Kid-friendliness: Food options for kids.

Fantastic meal and a wonderful experience for our 17th Anniversary- thank you!
I know that people can be overly-dramatic in their reviews, but this really was one of the worst restaurant meals I have ever had.I should have walked out in the middle, but I felt sorry for the owners and I kept hoping it get better.I could write paragraphs about what was wrong and it would read like an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. The ambiance is where I would start. The staff and their friends are just hanging out, talking and joking loudly, playing with the kids. The customers are obviously in the way.The menus stick to the tables. (Yuck!)The food is abismal. The lamb shank: tough and dry. The "beet salad" was mostly lettuce and cheese with hardly any beets at all. And all of the plates came rimmed with a sticky sweet cinnamon syrup garnish (imagine this on your meat or salad.)They seem like nice people but they are totally in over their heads.

My wife and I ate there tonight. Great food and nice couple running the place. Would very much go back again. They actually raised the two meat dishes we had to night. Amazing.

We dined on a Sunday night where there was a couple ending their meal when we walked in. It was a slow night and it had rained that afternoon. We could choose any seat. The wine list features local wineries (wide range of price per glass). The entrees were on the pricey side (value for money). We inquired whether the peaches were still fresh “in season” for the salad. They answered “yes” We should have followed our gut as the peach felt past its prime as a salad ingredient but probably great for a dessert. The asparagus was tasty but a little sad in its appearance. The scallop entree was great except for the watery quinoa. The spicy mussels (not pictured here) were tasty. The flourless chocolate cake dessert was also good. Overall the food was a 3.5 star rating. The cool wood tables and tile mosaics give this cottage-like venue an eclectic vibe. I’m rooting for this local restaurant. Hopefully there are more patrons to maintain sourcing great produce.
