Slow service, nice waitress, but no music and not too many decorations. Better to take out sushi in the future! The price you pay to dine in for a party of two is $55 plus a tip. You can drive down the hill 25 minutes to Hemet and eat for $27 for two at “Pho Shack” which is delicious and affordable.
I hope my review helps you decide and know it’s a long wait to dine in. You also feel ignored they should give free edamame or bread with oil & vinegar while you wait! Plenty of room for improvement but I don’t think the owner cares.

I went to this sushi place for dinner with my friends, I was excited to eat at the restaurant. I ordered the spicy edamame as an appetizer, now I really like this appetizer and when I had the dish it felt underwhelming at first I was like this is good! But as I ate on the edamame wasn’t that good. Then when I got my Mexican Rolls they were good at first but as I ate on they were from good to okay. The service could need improvement as one of the workers went to us to pay for our meals we asked for separate checks however, the worker had us pay per meal and she left to attend other things we were waiting as we had no idea what to do. Another thing my friend is allergic to sweet potatoes and they asked the waiter if there’s any sweet potatoes and the worker said yes and he would remove the sweet potato my friend said three times he is allergic but the people gave him the sweet potatoes. After the lady which was doing something else another worker came to help out with paying for our food he made a remark about our friend and that’s all I remember.

Now I believe my friends and I went at the wrong time. because, by the time we were inside there were other people almost filled up guaranteed we were luckily given a spot and by the time we had to leave it was almost a full house inside and they were going to seat people before cleaning up tables we sat at. I will of course give this place a second chance!

It was Saturday when we went (2 of us), and it did not seem too busy. Ordered and the non sushi came out rather quickly, but waited another 40 minutes for the sushi. We ended up taking it to go.

Nice girl waited on us. I’m afraid the food was mid though. Salad had too much dressing on it, salmon was overcooked, shrimp fried rice was dry and bland. The one sushi roll we got was good.

The food is good, albeit pretty costly.

The service is very 50/50. Sometimes they're very helpful and efficient, but sometimes they certainly are not. One time they had me wait an hour on the phone, before just hanging up.

The atmosphere is simple and pleasant.

We love the food there. Still we were extremely upset when we walked in with only one table with customers. We were told they got a big order of rolls so we would have to wait an hour before we could order if we wanted rolls. Really? That is no way to run a restaurant. Second time we dealt with weird happenings. First time we were told after most tables opened up that we couldn't order now because the same waitress told us they had to clean up all of these tables. They lost our business because they don't seem to understand how to run it. Upside, we left and found a great restaurant down the street. We were happy. IDY lost out on probably a 60 dollar bill. Figure it out people. Never in all of my years have I experienced this strange behavior in a restaurant.

Really expensive for what you get. My god the edemame was insane... and I always get spicy garlic but not here. 9 dollars....maybe it's idylwild and they can't get food here or it's just a tourist trap but I'm yet to be wowed by anything here so far.

DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE, IF I CAN REVERT THE TIME I WOULD NOT EVER VIST HERE!!! I waited for 45 minutes for three rolls while three employees just sat there doing nothing and nothing is being served or check up or telling me food is late. Walked out and never coming back DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE and SERVICE ARE SO HORRIBLE AND TERRIBLE

GREAT SERVICE, BUT BLAND... it pains me to say this as the staff were absolutely wonderful. However, I have to be honest. I tried the edamame appetizers and they weren't a hit for me. Next, for the main course I had a order of veggie yakisoba w/ tofu and this also missed the mark big time. I didn't like that the noodles tasted store bought. Honestly I've had better maruchan noodles. The tofu was solid but it wasn't enough to save the dish. The fried fish looked good but I didn't get a chance to try it!

I didn't feel like sushi this time around so I might give this place another shot, however it's going to be a while till I come back. As I'm writing this we are in the middle of the summer in Idyllwild and things are heating up. I was further disappointed that this place did NOT have AC, it was very steamy in there which made my visit a bit uncomfortable. Again, I'm sad that I have to leave this review because our waitress was awesome! Hoping they improve their cooking soon!

This was a lot better sushi than I was expecting in the middle of a forest! They had really tasty tempura (veg and shrimp). Their caterpillar roll, salmon avocado roll and crunchy roll were spot on. Their beef yakisoba was plate-licking good. They also had really good plum tea.

On the other hand, the sashimi wasn't as great looking. It tasted fine but it looked a little cheap. We were also really lucky and made reservations so we had inside seating but some of the tables were picnic tables in the parking lot with no shade. I would still eat there but just FYI because sometimes people are looking for a certain vibe.

Would want to come back!

A pleasant surprise to find Asian food up here. Ordered beef bento box and it was delicious with generous portion size. Staff are friendly too which is an added bonus.

IDY Sushi is becoming a family tradition... my son and I will have dinner here from time-to-time, enjoying their scenery, atmoshpere, and service!

Their sushi rolls are the largest we have ever seen and delicious! They provide 8 huge rolls instead of the common 6 tiny rolls you get elsewhere.

Highly recommend trying!
