It really should be much better. Maybe I need to give it another shot, but is run down and the food was a little strange.

This place won't be around much longer. The food was actually good despite one person ordering serving cooking and bussing. Two piles of dog poop on carpet so obviously had not even vacuumed in the last day. Even if be some miracle she got a bunch of costumers she then would not have the staff to serve them. Kinda sad.

We were met at the door by barking and excited dogs barely able to enter. We love dogs! Lady came out and was not very welcoming just apologizing for the dogs. It is dark, cold and very outdated. We were the only customers. She handed us menus and showed us what was not available. We decided to give it a try. Dogs finically calmed down. Table was dirty. The food was very mediocre. We ordered the chicken parm and it was greasy with big chunks of unbreaded chicken. No bread or salad offered. She told us at the end of the meal that she was only accepting cash or Venmo. We won't be back. Sorry this is harsh but honest.

Carmel is absolutely amazing. I urge you to give this place a chance and not judge a book by its cover. Amazing food and wonderful service. I felt at home right away!!

Excellent freshly prepared food. Nice music. Friendly dogs that will entertain while the owner prepares your meal. My husband had the chicken tiki Marsala and I had the lamb shank both of which were excellent. The owner provided us with a delicious key lime pie for desert on the house. Don’t go expecting fast food as everything is prepared fresh when ordered.

Excellent food freshly prepared. The owner chef Carmel dogs will delight and entertain you while she prepares your meal. The food was excellent. My husband had the chicken tiki Marsala and I had the lamb shanks. Delicious, complex flavors, cooked to perfection. Don't expect fast service as everything is made fresh upon ordering. Have a glass of wine and enjoy some nice jazz music while you wait. The owner provided us with complementary key lime pie at the end of the meal. Definitely recommended.

Having heard bad comments since the new ownership we've decided to give it a try because it was once was one of our favorite spots to go for music, drinks and dinner. That was then and now is now. The moment we walked up to the door we thought it was closed. However, we were greeted by two barking dogs. Not sure if it the door would open we tried the door and was greeted by I believe was the owner. She advised the dogs were tame and to sit anywhere. We then chose to sit what was a favorite spot the bar area. The moment we sat down we noticed there was no glasses, no liquor nor any bartender. If it wasn't for a couple sitting nearby we would think it was deserted. The couple did say that we should be waited on soon but as we sat for nearly 10 minutes possibly longer no one came by at either one of our tables. We could see the women that we saw earlier (the same women the owner) preparing food in the kitchen. Still waiting we continued to watch the dogs roaming around each of our tables as waiting for food droppings. The more we sat around focusing on the surroundings we noticed on the floor by our table was old dog poo lying there and the moment we saying something about it we noticed one of the dogs squatting down and urinating right in front of us. So needless to say, we left. I have no idea how this has not been addressed to the health department. Very sad to know what a great place this once was is now literally a dog park.

Like others say...it was awkward. We're not sure this place is really open. The server/owner/do it all was very sweet to us, very attentive, very accommodating, but....we were the only soul around. Except the dogs. That begged for me food. Obviously this place is going out of business despite the multitude of open signs. I feel we kind of got sucked in and stuck there for the evening, which was not bad. The food was very good honestly. But I asked for a cranberry with sprite ( Shirley temple type) and she brought me a Coke with whipped cream. My kid doesn't drink Coke or caffeinated drinks like that. We we're cool and just let her have it. Now at almost 1:00am we are paying the price as my daughter still awake. Please bring me what I asked for! No Cc machine only cash or Venmo, broken coolers still in place, about 7 bottles in the bar and broken umbrellas and tables due to weather. PUT YOUR FURNITURE AWAY FOR WEATHER

IF YOU SEE A SIGN OUT FRONT THAT SAYS "OPEN" .......DO NOT, I REPEAT...DO NOT GO IN THERE!!!! It won't be there for much longer but periodically it will be open on random days. There is no staff, just the owner and her dogs are the hosts. The only people that would go in there are poor tourists that don't know better. The place is disgustingly filthy and was recently shut down by the health inspector. So, if you see that it's open, this is your warning! Such a bummer that the owner ran it into the ground. It used to be the best bar on the hill with decent food. Those were the days!

We stumbled across Idyology after a hike in Idyllwild and found this charming hole in the wall. The owner Carmel is the sweetest person and extremely attentive! She cooks each meal herself and you can really feel the love! She really knows food, and has experience cooking all over the world (even as a private chef in Paris!) The flavors in the steak sandwich were so elevated for a casual dining restaurant. Everything is so fresh and made in house even down to the fries and chocolate cream pie. We both thought this place was better than most of the lunch spots in LA and we wish Idyology was closer!! Coming back tomorrow to try the chicken parm and pasta.

Service was amazing. Food was honestly sub-par, especially for the prices. View is nice.

I think the place is closed and a squatter is pretending to be a restaurant owner. It's incredibly dirty even the water had floaters. The owner had no menu or payment system and was incredibly rude when we asked for the table to be wiped down (there was food and other disgusting things on the table). It was as if she hadn't engaged with the public for years. Worst experience ever!!!

I never said that night I said oh we're going to ferro tomorrow and I don't want back to back pasta. Then u said it quite rudely so I don't know what graciousness you claim to have. Most of your menu was pasta. You also didn't deny shooing us out it was very uncalled for. Reading your other responses it doesn't shock me you deny your actions. And yes I had a wonderful time at ferro with a polite and welcoming staff, maybe you can learn a thing or two from them. Cheers.

Is this restaurant open? Google, Instagram, Facebook all says it's open. The voicemail inbox doesn't indicate it's closed but seemed to be closed/ unresponsive. Update: 1. You can only leave one Yelp review. 2. Perhaps instead of arguing with people about their reviews, the owner could listen to what customers are saying with genuine interest and perhaps improve the business. Best business practices for a response to a negative review from a business would be to apologize for the negative experience and occasionally, if appropriate, extend an offer to make it up to the customer. Other potential patrons see all unprofessional and sarcastic comments left and it only hurts the brand. 3. What I reported was 100% true at time of report: all socials including Instagram, Facebook, Yelp, and Google Maps said the place was open and the hours were not adjusted as claimed. In fact, Yelp says the hours were last updated 3 months ago, yet we were in Idyllwild about a month ago. We later drove by as well and confirmed there was a for sale sign. Seems like the owner is not being honest about things.
