A wide selection of tea, served in proper mugs (by request ) and disposable cups. They also offer pastries. It’s cozy inside, and there are outdoor tables as well.

What a cute little store with delicious tea (I had Weekend in Barcelona and Valerian Fields), absolutely mouthwatering vegan cookies and beautiful pies. Bought 3 different ones and just OMG yum heaven!
You can order tea to go or enjoy inside, hot or cold. They also have gorgeous ceramics and pretty little gifts. Highly recommend this place!

My partner and I had a wonderful experience at Shala Tea. From the moment you walk in you can tell you’re in a space that is cared for. The interior is clean, cozy, well curated, and stocked with lots of beautiful tea accoutrements, more than you’ll likely have time to peruse (but you can make the time!).

We decided to try two different kinds of tea, one green and one oolong, both of which were fabulous and so delicious. We loved the green tea so much we ended up buying some to bring home. We also split the vegan olive oil cake, which was sublime. The owner of Shala was also extremely kind and knowledgable, and after speaking with her it is easy to see that she cares deeply about her business, as well as the other local businesses in Idyllwild.
My partner and I learned that the community of Idyllwild is truly what keeps the wheels turning and bringing new folks into the fold. It’s a rare and lovely thing to witness, a community so determined to keep itself hyper local, independent and whimsical. Anyway, I’m going off on a tangent, but needless to say this was a highlight of our time in Idyllwild and we would highly recommend Shala Tea Company to everyone!

Honestly what can I say… this place exceeded my expectations. It was very cozy inside and the woman who got my tea pot ready for me and assisted me with my purchases was so friendly. If they don’t have any pre-proportioned bags of the loose leaf tea, they will still sell it to you by weight. I was able to buy a tea pet which I have been searching for several weeks for the perfect one. The tea was delicious, they give you a timer with your tea pot to know when to pour your tea, and you can either sit in one of two areas within the business or go outside and sit in the front patio.

I’ve been meaning to pop into this shop for over a year and finally did. Sad to not have sooner! Such a lovely experience, delicious teas (and hot apple cider in the winter yum!). The shop has lots of beautiful gifts/treasures to browse as well. Owner was so lovely and really has created something special!

Interesting tea experience. They give you a kettle with your tea and a timer for 5 min. Afterward you pour your tea into the glass. You can add half and half or almond milk. It’s a bit pricey at $7-8 per tea. I thought it was enjoyable and the honey oolong tea was subtle but delicious

I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants chai, it seems they found all the things that someone might add to a masala chai, but not include the most important ingredients. I ordered the marlabar chai, and I was given this spice blend dipped on hot water without any black tea OR milk, which are the things that make an indian style chai a chai at all. It was also bizzare because the cashier commented on my proper pronunciation of 'chai' as being from LA the way I ordered it. Overall, I paid $6 for a chai without any chai in it, in a store that smelled very strongly of weed or some kind of similar incense, and I did not enjoy it at all.

Such a quaint shop. Love the kitchen items available for sale (I bought a few) and especially love my horse hair long handled brush for the kitchen and my ostrich feather duster! Bought a piece of pie for later…it was mouth watering good😋! The sales person was very sweet and helpful.
Wish that I don’t live so far away and could visit again.
