I called the restaurant at 8:55 am to place an order, but the staff answered the phone with an abrupt tone, insisting that I call back at 9:00 am. Additionally, the overall attitude of the staff was rude and unwelcoming. While the food is decent, the poor management and questionable cleanliness of the restaurant overshadowed any positive aspects. I was taken aback by the lack of professionalism and courtesy. It's disappointing that such behavior tarnishes an otherwise potentially pleasant dining experience. I'd spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Use to love this place. I understand need to raise prices ,but increase is way too much . The food is just ok now. But the main issue is service, bring you food and never come back .

My Wife and I use to really love this place and talked about how we hoped it wouldn't change......but it has. The food has gotten ridiculously expensive. A $15 dollar burrito is now $30. The food portions have gotten smaller, the service sucks. The waiter/waitress doesn't ever come back for anything so you have to physically get up and get their attention to only get an attitude in return. Never thought I'd leave this place a bad review but we're not going back after over 15 years of going there. Side note.....they still have the best salsa in the world.

Saw this place online and had some good reviews. Stopped in while in Imperial and it was so quaint. Nice family ran business and very friendly too. I had the shrimp taco plate and it was good. Wishing for some lime crema sauce but it still was delicious. Hubby had a Como taco/burrito and he really liked it. Now they have a Special quesodilla that is huge! Kinda like a empanada on steroids or a huge Mexican calzone. It's really fantastic. We got ours with Carne asada and will enjoy it for dinner tonight.

El Zarape has the best carne asada burritos.!! And the salsa they have makes the burritos even better. My only complaint is the prices. The food is a little pricey, but again the food is delicious!!
