I bought the spam Omurice to try it out and it was beyond delicious. Let me put it like this, I had bought Domino’s for my family, but we ended up fighting over the Omurice like a pack of ravenous raccoons. The presentation was immaculate. The rice was savory and the egg was cooked to perfection. I spoke with owner and he was very personable and professional. We should support small businesses especially those with talent.

I will return.

Great restaurant! The food is very tasty, and the service is excellent. The crunchy shrimp has wonderful flavor and the crunch has perfect texture, while the galbi bowl has a wonderful char to the meat. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an affordable Korean fusion restaurant!

Nestled between fried, cheap IV eats, and liquor stores is this absolute gem of a restaurant. Surprisingly amazing quality, complex and comforting flavors and menu options, and the nicest staff I’ve come across anywhere here in Isla Vista. Teddy Rice is one of those places that deserves all the hype (and so much more). Their omurice is the best I’ve had and a dish we return for regularly and you can’t miss the dumplings (the vegetarian ones are 10/10) or 1$ side of miso soup.

Food is alright but I came to eat inside and they had some sort of war movie on and I ended up having to listen to people getting blown up at a very loud volume with constant scenes of gore. Probably a good movie but super unsettling to listen to while eating and very inappropriate.

IV's weakest link, despite its amazing weather and people, is its limited food palette and diversity. So, students end up being forced to choose between 3+ different pizza places or hispanic food, which isn't an issue until you're two weeks in and tired of eating the same food.

Teddy Rice manages to bring exclusion with the idea that different foods can succeed in IV! Although I didn't personally enjoy the hot foods due to its blandness, the dessert bingsoo(shaved ice w. condensed) milk has been my top 2(and it isn't 2nd) options for something to have after a meal or to celebrate with! The workers, especially Teddy is super friendly and brings with himself a special environment to the restaurant.

I love celebrating small and big accomplishments with my close friends, so whenever they tried their hardest for a volleybay intramural or finished studying for actuarial exam, I believe this is the best place to take them to celebrate. Please give them a try and especially try the mango option(the +$1.25 is worth it, trust)!

good meals, nice service, definitely worth revisiting.

One note, however, is that the seats and tables need to be entirely replaced. Not sure who thought metal barrels were a good idea, but they were wrong. Not only do the seats make the most awful noise known to man when scooted over the floor, but the tables are super unstable so you can't rest your self on them without it tipping.
