We stopped in here on a whim just based on the high review ratings. Did not disappoint! Ordered 3 different types of sandwiches and some of their housemade beef jerky. Everything was delicious. Saw too late that they have some sort of hot pocket sandwich things that sound good, too, so I guess we'll just have to go back!
Young man behind the counter was very nice and chatted us up while we waited for our food .
Lots of things to buy! The desserts looked good. Lots of flavor choices on the jerky. Jars of hot mustard and other stuff. Homemade soaps that smelled delicious. This is a neat little shop!
I can't eat gluten or soy, which is always tricky when I want to pull over for a quick bite—happened to see gluten free bread as an option on the pictures on Google here. This place is exactly what you want from a neighborhood deli and then some. Very good thin-sliced and flavorful pastrami. Super nice staff who were very considerate of my food allergies. I forgot the bread that I was eating was gluten free, which is always a good sign! I also got their tomato chips, a great snack or topping for home. Husband got the zombie and he loved it, it was a great handheld option for the car. We live in Sacramento and have plans to take the extra time to go through Isleton next time we go to the Bay just so we can stop by again!
This is the spot!! Zombies and brownies are banging!! People were super nice and prices were great!!
Tasty deli spot with great local flavor. The croissant club was excellent—flaky, fresh, and packed with flavor. My wife and daughter raved about the brownie. I didn’t get to try the zombies, but they’re clearly a local favorite and sold out fast. Heads-up: there’s no seating at the deli itself, but the staff suggested a couple nearby spots and even a great bar down the way where you can enjoy your food with a drink. Solid service, good food, and a nice community vibe. The building itself is very cool too.
Next to Striper fishing McBoodery is about the best thing that ever happened on Isleton...Not counting old lady Clambanger out on Taco Slough because she has the secret sauce used to catch all those crawdads for the great Isleton Cawdad Festival. So the next time you decide to dink some cut bait stop at The McBoodery for your lunch, it's always a 5 star experience. ☆☆☆☆☆
The McBoodery has amazing food, unique specialty items, and a friendly atmosphere. Owners, Mike and Sarah, offer some of the best local, fresh, homemade food around. Try their stuffed brioche ‘zombies’, delicious sandwiches, homemade jerky, and yummy desserts. You can’t go wrong eating at the McBoodery!
I just moved here, and I found this place, amazing food, great people, lots of great treats. I keep going back, thank you..
This is a really good bakery/deli that had the nicest people working the counter and in the kitchen.
The sandwiches, jerky, and desserts are delicious. The zombies are incredible.
This place is ridiculously good and priced the lowest in the delta. Way better than the bakery in Rio Vista. Very much worth the drive out to

The McBoodery is always delicious! They make amazing sandwiches, soup, desserts, and their famous brioche Zombies are not to be missed! They make the best jerky around, and they even have a few vegan jerky options. The shop is cheerful and charming with a nice selection of plants, cheeses, speciality mustards, local eggs & honey, and gifts.

Stopped by for lunch during work in the area. Staff was super friendly, and the food was great. The Zombies are a fun and different item, the jalapeño one was super good. Took some tomato vegan jerky to-go, can’t wait to try it.

I discovered this gem while looking for a fun spot to grab sandwiches and picnic items on our way to Bogle Winery. What a find! The food is all homemade and absolutely incredible. We tried the pastrami sandwich, the eight-cheese jalapeño zombie, the mufalatish, some amazing ranch pasta, and a pumpkin dessert that was to die for! And the prices—unbelievable! It felt like stepping back 20 years. The service was fantastic too; they set us up perfectly for our picnic. I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s well worth a little drive for such a unique, delicious experience!
