We've been to Ewings a couple of times while camping in Kern. Super cute restaurant with amazing views of the river. Good for a couples or for groups, they have different areas you can sit in. The food was good and the prices are very fair.

I just finished my dinner here and I was very pleased with it. It has the best view in kernville and is really beautiful inside as well. The food was great as always and I was surprised by their big section of senior dinner specials starting at only $9.95 including soup or salad. I've been eating here for about 60 years and I always look forward to coming back again. Live music and a great bar too. Try it or come back again and you'll thank me later.

We went up with a group from the CSUB 60+ club. I wondered what kind of service we would get coming in as a large group (I think there were nearly 20 of us). Well, the service was excellent. They were ready. They quickly seated us and offered drinks. The menu was pre-planned. We had requested a half turkey sandwich with a side salad and a pizza. The turkey sandwich was delightful. The slice of bacon was a pleasant addition. With carrots and diced cabbage, the salad was incredibly fresh. The views of the Kern River from our dining area were amazing. With windows everywhere, you almost felt like you were sitting outside. (They have a beer patio with outside views). I didn't get a look at the regular menu, but I hope to get back before too long. This place has it all: great atmosphere, wonderful service, and delicous food.

It's such a wonderful place. Great view of the river at sunset. Ordered spicy margaritas and the 16 oz ribeye. Both exceeded my expectations. Waitress and server were great. We were never left unattended. It was definitely a great experience.

Great meal overlooking Kern River. Salmon was not over cooked and was moist, flaky and flavorful. My wife's filet was extraordinary. Tasty, tender and very large for an 8 oz steak. Loads of rustic mashed potatoes and garlic green beans complimented the surf and turf very well. Recommend.

If you ever find yourself in Kernville, you need to eat at Ewings on the Kern! The location is beautiful, set just above the Kern River, the views are stunning! The food was delicious!! I had the Old Skool Burger, which was probably one of the best burgers I've ever had! They have a full bar and the drinks we ordered were great! Even though we were a large group and came without a reservation, they were more than happy to accommodate us. Laura, our server, was awesome and went above and beyond to make sure our entire party was happy! Will definitely be coming back to Ewings on the Kern!!

We love dining here! We've never had a bad meal and the staff is so kind. Food is flavorful and well-prepared. Their flat fries and cheese curds are fabulous. The views are amazing. Ambiance is great.Meals we had:Fish and ChipsSkillet ChickenBurgerCajun PastaFrench DipNote to Management: when it comes to your coffee flavor sweeteners, please carry the non-sugar free variety, or please train your waitresses to ask if sugar-free is okay. I wasn't told and have a sensitivity to sugar-free varieties that causes migraines. I wasn't informed and forgot to ask. Most places are pretty good at asking if sugar-free is okay if that's all they carry.

Excellent experience. Service was quick.and the servers were very pleasant. Cheese curds and Coconut shrimp for appetizers, both of which were very tasty. I had the vegetable pasta with shrimp while one friend had the Pot Pie, and the other had the Skillet Chicken. My friends also partook of the house wine, raspberry lemon drops and a dirty martini

We have a German Shepherd dog, beloved and well mannered, so we always eat on the covered patio, which has a terrific view, fireplace, tv, and great service. We visit this place twice a year and look forward to our visit. If your visiting Kernville, this is the place to have dinner, above and beyond. all others, except perhaps McNally's, don't compete.
