Very friendly atmosphere and the live music is wonderful.Cocktail prices are personally very wonderful along with the whiskeys and the tequila and others. i felt more relaxed than i have in years. staff was fab. owners the best. food was out of this world. i can’t wait to return. yippee McNally’s Fairview Lodge!Rooms: i slept so comfy, i dreamt of trees blowing, the Kern flowing and cowboy bikers whispering about the burgers. what more could anyone want!Walkability: i walked where ever i needed and repeatedly went to the general store, then the river, then the bridge then back to the general store. took a nap & went to dinner. yum to the 10th degree! oh the trails!

This is our annual stomping grounds for 4th of July holiday. After camping on their awesome grounds at Kern River we end our last night with a big group dinner at Johnnys. Love the pickled platter that comes with your meal and they have a great selections of beef cuts that won't disappoint. Sitting on the screened in patio along the river is our preference but indoor has its own old school appeal too.

A night to remember! We celebrated my parents 50th anniversary and it was fantastic! Sonja, our server, was amazing and very knowledgeable! The steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were great too! I absolutely loved the tomato soup! The meal ended with a very generous portion of mud pie, brought out by the staff! The room we dined in had a great rustic, cabin feel, complete with deer mountings. Thank you to all of the staff for making our night special!

Very disappointing experience and will not come back nor recommend it. I ordered the sirloin steak. It was very tough. The manager or owner confirmed that yes it was a tough steak. He offered to upgrade my order to a ribeye but it would cost me more but that he would give me a 10% off. How generous! I said I wanted to be safe and ordered the apricot sauce chicken. Big mistake! It took them 35 min to bring it to me. My husband eat all his meal, including his desert and I still didn't have my meal. I was just about to cancel it when the gentleman (with beard and a cowboy hat, I'm assuming he was the manager) brought over and all he said, I'm sorry for the delay. The chicken was terrible, and I believe it was $35 or around that much. My husband and I are very nice people and didn't say anything, we paid, left tip, and left. But I was mad! The gentleman didn't even make an attempt to make it right to make a decent dinner experience, ZERO customer service! Prices are excessive for the quality of food and customer service they offered. Oh well, lesson learned!

The owner also came to great us and wanted the assure we were receiving great service. The food was the best I've ever eaten. I recommend the Fairview special. The steak and jumbo shrimp were absolutely delicious! Enjoyed the cozy and rustic atmosphere. And to top the evening off we set outside the campfire. Such a lovely evening. Will definitely be returning for dinner at Johnny Mcnalleys Restaurant.

I can not stress enough the Five-Star experience my fiancé and I experienced here in the middle of a national forest and camping trip! I mean talk about mind blown! We decided to treat ourselves to a nice restaurant dinner for our upcoming anniversary and recent 4th of July engagement back on our trip in early August! First of all, I believe his name is Greg that works the convenience store there! We really enjoyed our talk with him on our random trips for ice and other last minute needs within walking distance of our camp site. He booked us his favorite seat in the house, at sunset, overlooking the River on the balcony-that went a long way with us!!! We truly went all out and got the Tomahawk, which both of us steak lovers have surprisingly never tried! That thing was huge, and ugggg, so perfectly cooked and full of flavor! We also enjoyed the sampler appetizer platter at Greg's recommendation, as they sell the Jalapeño jelly's by the jar and he said they pair it very well with that platter. (I couldn't imagine a jalapeño jam lol!) We we're impressed with even their dressing for the salad, and come to find out, they do indeed make all their sauces in house...and I promise you, as a foodie, YOU CAN TELL! Every bite was savory, the batter had a delicious and perfect crisp on the sampler platter, and there was truly no attention to detail that was missed by the chef or the service crew and management! I enjoyed their McNally's Old Fashion, and as a bartender, I can attest to it being maybe the best Old Fashion I have ever enjoyed! I believe if I am not mistaken, the bartender's name was Sherida! Our server Nikki was simply the best! Very attentive and never missed a step! Jim, one of the managers came by and greeted the tables to check in on their experience- a practice I think only the best restaurants are willing to engage in- he was also a delight! Perhaps most impressive was their young Chef Gerron who has worked with the company for several years now and is turning out five star cuisine and under the age of 20, if my memory serves me right! Please treat yourselves to this amazing guest and food experience! This staff was the most organized, friendly, grounded and exceptional that I have seen in a restaurant perhaps ever! I come from the service industry, and my standard for service is very high...they exceeded my expectations and to boot, the food was better than five star restaurants we have experienced in Los Angeles where we live! Thank you McNally's crew for a romantic and absolutely unforgettable eating and dining experience! No doubt we are trying the famous Porterhouse next trip up there! P.S. we had to buy the set of wooden coasters and Wine Corker, which we use daily! Gracious thanks again!

Best margaritas on the mountain.. great food and across the bridge a nice hike trail along river.. great little store and hotel and hamburger stand .. kid friendly swimming under bridge behind the restaurant . Fairview camp ground best camping sites and great when river is lower to tube down to bridge from camp site . Family and kid friendly .. not a lot of rowdy campers party all night . That's gold ledge camp ground if you want a party camp ..definitely a must see and visit ...
