This place is excellent. The owners are incredibly friendly. This is my go to place for ice cream when im in town working.

Went in on July 5th, day of fireworks at the lake. There was a line out the door! The girls working were fast, kind and incredibly accommodating! The ice cream was delish and the kids all enjoyed!

We had a great experience at Something Sweeter during our weekend trip. The employee, Scarlett, was very kind to my two boys who were asking her a million questions. The desserts were delicious and refreshing especially for a hot day. We will be back on our next visit to Kernville!

I am not one to leave reviews. I am a wife, mother, work a full time job and also attend college part time so to take time out of my day to type this took a lot. I walked into this busy establishment and was greeted by no one. It was a decent line so I figured it would take a minute to get serviced and did not mind the wait. What I do find frustrating were the three young girls behind the counter completely in no rush to complete orders. Two young gentlemen were sitting at the counter and obviously interested in the girls so the girls were giving all of their attention to the non paying gentleman at the counter. Customers were waiting entirely too long to receive their coffee and ice cream orders. At one point I looked at the counter to check on my order and one girl was texting, another was leaning on the counter and one was entertaining the gentleman and laughing. Not a single order being taken or given. Again I was young once, I get it. But the service was half decent and I did not feel like a paying appreciated customer.

Friendly staff. Very cute setup for a family owned business. It can get very busy at times. Girls are very patient and polite. It was our first time ever here, and we went back again while camping up here. Highly recommend it to anyone who is coming thru town. Support this local business.

Can't say anything about the quality of their desserts because the very bored looking lady at the counter decided they were closing early by 30 minutes but didn't want to lock the door... for reasons, I guess (I do know it was not because she was busy closing, she was just standing there with a very bored expression).
