We just found a gem. They have very good Mexican food. Loved their corn tortillas, the best I have had. I had combination of fried pork skin and the pork in the green sauce (chili Verde?). Both are tender and very yummy. Hubby had super burrito. He said it's so much better than the one across the street. For sure, we will be here again.

This place was a bit hard to find in the middle of no where, but SO GOOD!! OMG!! If you are driving by, please stop and eat here. We were at the Tesla charging center, heading back to L.A. from Stanford and trying to figure out what to eat when we noticed it. Did I mention its open 24 hours?!? Amazing!!! The customer service was awesome as well... great people and great food!!! And yes, they serve alcohol ;)

We were just visiting for a graduation party, and we went here in the morning. We were a big group, so it took a while, but the food was worth the wait!

Yummy food. Very friendly and quick for a pit stop in kettleman city. We both agreed the meat could use a pinch of salt but otherwise super tasty and hit the spot.

Came for the Tesla lounge, stayed for the tacos. This place is . Started with one asada taco and a ham breakfast burrito to try it out, but ended up getting 6 more tacos to fill up.

Rude and incompetent cashier. Dishonest food handler. First, no gloves were used. We odered 7 tacos but he was trying to hand us 6 even though my son and I were standing in front of him counting how many he made the whole time. Insulting because knew even while fumbling on the 6th taco that the kitchen left out an order of tortillas (brought from back) to assemble the last one. He had the audacity to tell us our 7 tacos were ready. Unbelievable. At best mediocore flavor wise and pricey. Don't bother with this place, there is a taco bell right across the street.

The food was five stars authentic Mexican. The decor is from some other planet, however. Food was served on styrofoam plates with plastic utensils, not so classy on the presentation. Again, go here for the food! The food! Did I say the food?!! We had a quesadilla with salsa that was otherworldly good, and the carne asada nachos were generous and excellent. And a monster size horchata. Yum!! This place is in a back corner but definitely worth checking out.

We came here to have dinner after a two hour trip. Ordered chicharon and chorizo tacos along with tostada ceviche. The taste was okay. The price was okay. The place was clean and not too crowded. I gave it 5 stars because the place was cool and clean. The food is good quality except that I was looking for more tastier tacos. Overall, good food and great place to do a rest stop while enjoying tacos.

This place was so good. I loved my food so much. If you are driving by this place please stop and eat here it is 10 times better than the fast food junk around it. My tacos were amazing and the workers couldn't be nicer. I was on my way back from San Diego and I'm so glad I decided to stop here. I even texted my family group chat and told the rest of my family to eat there because they were still an hour behind us. They also had food here and loved it. We agreed this was some of the best Mexican food we have ever had and that's surprising because we have visited Mexico twice. EAT HERE!!

I'm so amazed - this place is lowkey in the middle of nowhere and I had just stopped at the Tesla Lounge while driving from the SF bay area to the greater LA area. The place doesn't look like much from the outside, and it's not fancy or anything, but the people are nice and the food is great. I liked my burrito and all the meat they serve is good. They also have the half liter Mexican coca colas which I love (medio litro in the glass bottles, real cane sugar etc). The portions and pricing are fair but the burrito was so good that I actually wanted more even though I had eaten enough. I actually used to stop at this exit for Bravo Farms, which is a nice place, but the food there is pretty basic. I'd probably be going here every time I'm going to and from LA and the bay area. I plan to come back while charging at the Tesla station again on my way home. The sign said it's open 24 hours! I saw people dining in but I just took it to go and ate it in the Tesla Charging Lounge to avoid overcharging (the goal was to charge to 80% and not 100%) Also, I don't think they serve guacamole and the Lengua is often "sold out" but I like the carne asada (the one in the red sauce), it is really good. Carne asada is my typical order at most taquerias anyway.

Open 24 hours!! Food was good at a great price. We got the quasidilla and burrito. They had a great meat selection. Nice friendly staff

Excellent chicken tacos. Flavorful chicken with cabbage, onions, and cilantro. Delicious break on the 5.

I've drove by this location so many times but have always been on the Bravo Farms side and never bothered to cross the street to check out Chalio's. This time though, we saw the open sign at a little before 7am and decided to check it out, since most other food places weren't open yet. To my surprise, Chalio's is open 24 hours!! Barbacoa by the lb 5/5* This was an explosion of flavor. I was expecting to get a few pieces of meat since I ordered by the pound, but boy was I surprised to get a whole meal out of it! After the nice lady weighed my meat, she then scooped in all the juices, flavored it mild/spicy (however I wanted), and gave me onion, cilantro, and lime. It was like eating menudo but with barbacoa. My 1/4 lb of meat was only $5 but I ended up with a soup! Breakfast Burrito (Chorizo) 2/5* The chorizo isn't your typical super greasy minced meat. The sausage was taken from the meat case and chopped up fresh. But maybe because it wasn't greasy, the burrito was definitely missing some of that meaty juicyness, so it was bit bland and dry. The meats displayed behind the cafeteria-style case were not very visually appealing, especially when you see buche and lengua pre-taco'd up. Also, being a 24/7 establisment, I wonder how often the meat is cooked. My bf got the poopies later so I don't know... Some of them looked dry but the ones with the stew/sauce definitely looked tasty. I can't say much about looks, but all I know was my barbocoa was well seasoned and delicious. This is a great spot to stop at if you're wanting to eat something besides fast food on the road. I would just recommend going during lunch or dinner hours where the food turnover is quicker and fresher. But being 24/7 does have its perks when you're traveling late night or in the wee hours of the morning like I did. 3.5* for the food 4* for the convenience

Stopped by here while charging up the Tessie. Reasonable prices and good portion foods. Got the barbacoa quesadilla, asada torta and tacos. The quesadilla was really good. I asked them to chop up a pepper into the quesadilla and it was fire, spicy and tasty. No poops after either. Not bad!

Stopped on the long drive from LA to Sacramento. Didn't want any of the numerous chain restaurants at this exit and was super happy to find Chalios! I had a grande carnitas burrito with everything, husband had a couple chicken tacos and kiddo had the asada nachos. Pretty spicy for these white palates but overall fantastic. Everything looks/tastes homemade, burrito had a very generous amount of meat. Everything freshly made from delicious meats simmering behind the counter. While it is unlikely I will ever find myself in the area again soon, I 100% recommend Chalios if you're looking for fast and amazing Mexican food anytime of day in super central California.
