Waste of time - Don’t trust the posted hours.
I drove 50 minutes out of my way to try this place, only to find it completely closed during their posted business hours, both on Google and on the door. No notice, no update, nothing. Totally unprofessional and disrespectful of customers’ time. If a business can’t be bothered to update their hours or honor them, they don’t deserve your time or money. I won’t be back.

People! Trust me! You've stop at this place! We went there on our way to SLT and the food was amazing. The owner is so sweet that when we told him we want this ramen but with chicken and not pork or beef, he took extra efforts and made it with chicken for us. 100/10 gem !!

Excellent food in this inviting small Korean Diner in Picturesque Kyburz (Silverfork). If you're in a hurry you can order ahead by phone. I recommend the Miso Pasta. The roasted garlic and red pepper stir fried in perfectly cooked pasta, is the ultimate comfort food. Only order it spicy if you really like SPICY food! I ordered the Miso Pasta vegetarian and it is spicy! The pasta did not disappoint! My mouth is still on fire as I write this review. With a full belly, and and a burning mouth, I attest that I will be back here to eat again.

As others noted, the chef wears many hats and that can slow service a bit. The noodles do come from packages bought at Costco. But it's roadside ramen, not Momofuku. With this in mind, I'd say the food is tasty and filling. The stew had a lot of flavor and a good amount of spice. The bulgogi was very tasty. The fried rice could have been crispier, but the flavor was good. Overall it was a good meal and we'd go again.

If you want a fatty dinner and I mean 90% fat on your meat then order the pork bulgogi. Owner/cook was also not friendly at all.

Great food, absolutely fantastic scratch made food. The bulgogi was well sautéed with excellent char. Fresh kimchi and pickle as a side. Great rice.

Really great food at this unassuming gem on Hwy-50. After a full day of hiking in Destination Wilderness the spam and kimchi fried rice really hit the spot. Super tasty, big portions, and a really friendly owner. I will definitely be eating here again in the future!

Great authentic Korean food. Mr. Moon works everything himself, so it takes a while for the food but it's worth the wait! Great place for lunch or dinner on the way to/from Tahoe!

A Hidden Gem in the Mountains!

Moons Korean Kitchen is hands-down one of the best surprises tucked away in Kyburz! The food is bursting with flavor — authentic, comforting, and clearly made with love. We had the bulgogi and kimchi fried rice, and every bite was incredible. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh.

The owners are so kind and welcoming — you truly feel like you’re being served a home-cooked meal by family. It’s rare to find a spot that feels this personal and delicious in such a remote location.

Whether you’re passing through or planning a trip to the area, make sure to stop here. It’s worth the drive. Don’t miss it!
