Everything was so delicious, freshly made, worth the drive and wait, will definitely be back soon.

Nice stop on the way back from Tahoe!

Great food, absolutely fantastic scratch made food. The bulgogi was well sautéed with excellent char. Fresh kimchi and pickle as a side. Great rice.

Really great food at this unassuming gem on Hwy-50. After a full day of hiking in Destination Wilderness the spam and kimchi fried rice really hit the spot. Super tasty, big portions, and a really friendly owner. I will definitely be eating here again in the future!

Great authentic Korean food. Mr. Moon works everything himself, so it takes a while for the food but it's worth the wait! Great place for lunch or dinner on the way to/from Tahoe!

A Hidden Gem in the Mountains!

Moons Korean Kitchen is hands-down one of the best surprises tucked away in Kyburz! The food is bursting with flavor — authentic, comforting, and clearly made with love. We had the bulgogi and kimchi fried rice, and every bite was incredible. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh.

The owners are so kind and welcoming — you truly feel like you’re being served a home-cooked meal by family. It’s rare to find a spot that feels this personal and delicious in such a remote location.

Whether you’re passing through or planning a trip to the area, make sure to stop here. It’s worth the drive. Don’t miss it!

Delicious pork bulgogi and vegetable tofu soup. They really know how to make great spicy food!

It was verrrry mediocre. Packaged noodles with a basic broth, kind of weird pork meat. Not a whole lot of flavor going on but we ate it.

The cold noodles were a delight after a long hot hike. Bulgogi was also good, came on a sizzling plate.

Spice options 0,1,2,3. We got 2 and it was intense, recommend 1 next time.

They had some outdoor seating with a privacy screen so you weren’t looking directly at the road. Gas station next door had good ice cream as dessert.

Ask the owner about their story!

Next time we will stop here on our way up. In the winter the ramen sounds cozy.

Beautiful drive on Rt. 50 through very remote El Dorado National Forest. And, here among the mountain pines is a little treasure! We had delicious gyoza, ramen, and shrimp fried rice. Super tasty.
If you’re visiting South Lake Tahoe, go drive along Rt. 50 and stop here for a great lunch.

In a way back from Lake Tahoe, this place was the best spot for a yummy Korean food and a very pleasant pet friendly owner.
