I was so excited about sharing my experience in this restaurant. I was thinking about the review before we received the bill. It was going to start with. Don't judge a book by its cover. For three of us we ordered an omelette which my daughter and I shared and a short stack of pancakes. The food came at a great temperature. Well cooked. The syrup came out warm. And the little cubes of butter were even soft. This is great!! What restaurant does this anymore? We also had two coffees and a hot chocolate. We enjoyed a great breakfast together as a family. Then the bill came. According to the prices on on the menu it should have not been more than $40. The bill ended up being $57. They tacked on a service fee. And then also tacked on a tip. And then there was a service fee for using your debit card. Unfortunately the food was delicious. Definitely would not return. I totally get it's a mom and pop operation but you don't gouge your customers. Not in this manner.
Such a charming mountain Cafe with totem. Sitting creekside the food is outstanding! Order the ribeye sandwich.
Best cheeseburger amazing bun crispy fries, huge mimosa! But pricey but worth it ! Great service
I meet my boss here once a month as it's half way between my house and hers. We are usually the only ones here right when they open. The service is friendly and efficient and the food is fresh, quick and reasonably priced.
Good Food, Ambiance is ok, Wine, Beer available, We had veg, Bbq chicken Pizza, Mozzarella sticks and a pint of local beer. Everything was tasty. Parking available. Recommended to give a try.
We were the only ones in there and got great service, great food. Simple traditional breakfast perfectly prepared.
The owner is very nice so be polite the food is very delicious ??
Best food ever! Husband said it was the best chili burger he's ever had. Great environment, and parking. Located off Hwy 50 on the way to Tahoe.
The man who works here is terribly rude. He doesn’t even have the decency to say hello or welcome. Save yourself the trouble, grab a snack at the gas station if you are starving and find another place to eat.
This had to be the single worst experience regarding the level of servicing and an absence of welcoming atmosphere. I wish I could comment on the food. However, we simply couldn’t get past the rude temperament of the what appears to be an owner. And to be quite honest with you, I truly sensed an air of racism. My husband, I and our three children walk in expecting to be greeted by someone or anyone, though we found ourselves greeting the owner and seating ourselves. He had little enthusiasm for our presence. When I sent my son to the bathroom, it wasn’t easily accessible seeing as he had to ask the owner to unlock the door. I’m not sure what kind of customers or foot traffic they see around here but I’d imagine if you have patrons and only a handful of staff members, you’d be too busy to open a door to the bathroom for a patron. When I reminded my son to wash his hands (7 years old), we had to request he open the door again. When he came to take our order, I turned away to ask my son to settle down for literally a second. The man walked away and threw his paper on the counter as though he were frustrated that he had to wait for even a second for me to manage my child so that I could place our order. His response was totally outrageous. We’ve been here visiting California for a month now. Not once have we experienced such poor hospitality. If we’re here to provide patronage and give you our money, you’d think one would have a little more patience, kindness and welcoming demeanor than this person displayed. Not to mention small mom and pops are usually the best experiences. What a disappointment.

The Reuben is perfect! Cute little spot to stop on our way home.
Do NOT stop here u less you want to be treated like an absolute inconvenience by the owner. They keep the door locked and only let certain people inside. Once inside, we were ignored by the server and had to ask if we could finally order. The food was sub par, soda was flat, water tasted horrible, just an overall awful experience.
Best hash browns I've had in a long time! Eggs are always hard to get exactly right, as I prefer runny yolk and a set white. They almost got it exactly right. The bacon was as good as precooked bacon can be.
