This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Good food. Good service. Good ambiance. Good... everything. On Christmas Eve we ( family) stayed past closing without knowing and when we left the staff were pleasant and forgiving... and the flan... muy sabroso.

Staff is very friendly, the ambience is different and kinda old fashioned in a good way. Food and plates are MASSIVE! The menu has many options. You get free tortilla chips with Guac and Salsa during the whole meal for free (obviously if your order something from the menu)
Last time we will be eating at Don Jose. We have ben eating there two time a week almost every week for years. Tonight after paying my bill I notice that they didn't give us the senior discount. I ask the waiter and he said you have to ask for it. We are in our 70's and Beto and Susan have always given a discount. But the waiter tonight did not when I asked he said you have to ask for it. But did not offer to give a refund, well their competitor give bigger drink for less and always give a senior discount. Good bye Don Jose !

This pink palace is an amazing 80s time capsule. The food was lovely and the staff is professional and friendly. It's also super close to the freeway. We stopped there for lunch on the way from San Diego to LA and probably had a shorter wait for food than if we braved the line at In N Out.

The chips and salsa were great. The hard taco shells were very tough. Just ate the insides of taco leaving corn shell behind. Size of meals were quite large.
