It’s always interesting when a business spends so much time telling the world how beloved they are, how dedicated they are to their customers, and how much they “care” about the community. That’s a great message — but only when the reality matches the marketing.
We arrived at Tacos Elsinore at 8:39 PM, well before their posted closing time of 9:00 PM. Every online listing confirmed they were open. The sign on the door said “open.” Yet we were waved off by an employee who was already mopping the floor. Even after pointing to the sign, she simply shook her head and refused to serve us.
If a business chooses to close early, that’s a policy choice — but then they should be honest about it. Update your hours. Train your staff. Do something other than telling the public you’re community-focused while turning people away before closing.
I’m always the first to praise businesses that live up to their own standards. But I’ll also call it out when the experience doesn’t match the image. If this was a one-off staff issue, fix it. If it’s your actual policy, own it. Just don’t advertise yourselves as a standout neighborhood gem while operating like any other place that shuts the doors whenever it’s convenient.

The food is authentic and delicious. I have ordered their tacos, rolled tacos, enchiladas, chile rellenos and menudo. No complaints. I wish their prices were a little cheaper, average meal is $20 a person but so is most fast food restaurants unless your ordering from the value menu or have coupons.

I don’t know what happened to this place but it went downhill. I ordered some tacos and they’re just mush. Looks and tastes nothing like carnitas and the tortilla is just straight out of a bag. They never heated the tortillas on a camal or anything so they’re soggy and the tacos fall apart. I couldn’t even eat it.

I eat there whenever I get a chance. They are very friendly. And they have good food. And there Agua frescas are so good. No matter which one you get. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Great place for tacos. Good service, fast and friendly. Mondays are $1.50 tacos. I love it when I remember that on a Monday. Because every time I do, that is what we eat for dinner. Plus their refried beans are top shelf! Yum.
