If you haven't tried the citrus salad at Renee's Cafe/Stars under new management. This salad is the best yet that I've had around the lake, it come with chicken and is fully loaded with walnuts,mandarin oranges, cranberries,apples,feta cheese, it's definitely a must try, and the raspberry vinaigrette tops it off!

Cute little diner with great staff and wonderful food. Had the triple decker club sandwich with fries. Bacon was crisp, toast was toasty, lettuce was crisp and the sandwich was so huge I could only eat half of it.
Next time I come by here, I’ll stop in for the chicken fried steak!!

Really nice place, totally relaxed atmosphere. I had biscuits and gravy and it was as expected. Usual small diner biscuits and gravy - which in my opinion could be much better. But when making it in large batches it's a bit trickier. So over all, I'd say that they are 4 to 4 and half stars on the food, but for service easily a 5, same with the atmosphere. If you find yourself in Lakeport it is definitely worth stopping for.

So frustrating. New owners. New menu higher cost worse food. I called last week to order a tuna sandwich, I see it on the menu but the person who answered the phone says we have a new menu since July. No more tuna sandwich. I got on their website. Looked at the menu and lo and behold. There's the tuna sandwich and the tuna melt. One for $15 and one for $14 The girl who answered the phone could not speak English. I chatted with three different people, none of which knew they had tuna sandwiches. Very frustrating . Why can't lake county get a decent restaurant? Bring on Arby's or Chipotle?

We went to Rene's twice on our stay in Clearlake. The food and service were excellent on both occasions. I can recommend the grilled eggplant with pesto sandwich, the onion rings, the sweet potato fries, the minestrone soup, all the burgers, the BLT, and the carrot cake! We didn't have breakfast, but I saw being delivered looked tasty. My only quibble is that one in our party was in a wheelchair, and they don't have any true wheelchair accessible tables. The interior is clean, old-fashioned diner.

Renee's was a hidden gem. Restaurant was very clean. We had breakfast. The food was great. The folks there were all very nice too. If you make it through Lakeport make sure to stop there. It's definitely worth the trip.

Ordered the nachos and they were not eatable! I don't know what cheese they used, it tasted like canned. Absolutely horrible! I returned it to the waitress and she apologized and took the plate. I only had 2 bites!! I was still charged the $15.00. I will NEVER eat there again.

What a great place!! The food is incredibly fresh, with wonderful textures & zesty flavours. Generous portions, guarantee you won't leave Renee's Cafè hungry. The service was friendly , attentive & well timed. The menu is flexible & they will happily customize, or substitute, for food sensitivities, or preferences. The desserts are generous as well , delightfully moist cakes, cheesecakes & fruit filled pies . There are interesting artworks, by local artists as decor. In a centrally located place, easy walk from hotel row, open for dinnertime. I highly reccomend this place if you are in Lakeport. Only downside .. Bathroom is outside, all the way around the back , so if it's pouring rain, you might want to wait.
