The best Mexican food spot in Lakewood is Basil Pizza and Mexican Food, don't let the pizza name fool you. The are focusing now on what they do best the Mexican side of the menu and were NOT disappointed. First up: The Birria Taco Plate. Juicy, savory, and the dipping consommé is mandatory. Then, these vibrant Red Chilaquiles with the perfect egg on top. And for the brunch classic: Killer Huevos Rancheros with red and green sauce. Serious Mexican food game. Go check them...
The family that owns and runs this restaurant are bursting with pride, and it's clear to see why. Their family recipes from their roots in Oaxaca are made fresh every day, and are bursting with flavor. It's a very tiny little spot with two tables inside (but three outside) so it's very cozy.
