After bowling a couple games, I decided to stop in Cal Bowl Coffee Shop for a bite to eat. Went with something simple and healthy. A salad with the works. After placing my order (I was the only customer) I started wondering what was taking so long. Grab the salad out of the fridge and serve. Much to my surprise, the guy made the salad there on the spot. Fresh ingredients, including bacon, turkey, cheese, crisp fresh veggies and slices of egg! No pre-made salad sitting for days ... made there on the spot, and wow! Excellent. Seems everything is pretty much made this way. Definitely worth a short wait because the food and flavor is rewarding. AND my order was just a salad. LoL. Will be back to sample some of the special doughnuts and a cooked meal. Don't let the 'cafe' fool you, this is quality dinning.

Randomly came across this spot when I was looking for a place to go sit & do my homework last nightIt's a giant space & it seems to also be a bowling alley (I didn't go all the way to the back only stayed in the front area)The staff is friendly & attentive with all of their guests & the food menu looked incredibleHighly recommend you stop by to support & check this place out if you're in the area!

This is a hidden little gem. Came here to get the loco moco and also had a pastrami burger. The food was good! The service was excellent! This place is very clean and cozy. Will be back for sure!

This place is a must in the LB area!!! We are from Redondo Beach and where we have some great local spots too. But Bryn and her staff are completely amazing at creating homemade like dishes and my family and I always have to visit our friends at the Cal Bowl Coffee shop. If anyone is looking for good comfort food don't hesitate to try this not so Whole in the wall spot.

Hoping to have a pleasant breakfast, but our experience was far from it. Walked in an almost empty restaurant with 1 guest ahead of us. We ordered a loco moco and a breakfast burrito. These two items took over 35 minutes. I can't fathom why it took over 35 mins with 2 cooks in the kitchen and 2 wait staff members. I could hear the staff bickering about what to make and whatever else they were bickering about. I brought my own water in and when I asked if they could fill it with water they told us that they would have to charge for fountain water and a cup fee. Ridiculous to make your guest wait over 35 minutes for simple tasting food and to charge a cup fee for water. Can't wait to never return.

Solid Hawaiian style coffee shop. We came right when they opened and were still prepping, but they still got our food out within reasonable time. The combos are a good deal with a large selection of items to choose from... including spam musubi and lumpia, which saves me from getting an extra side. The malasadas were hot, fresh, and delicious!

The food was great! Had two orders of the lumpia and a plate of loco moco. The staff was very friendly and patient with our group of 6. They also allow your drinks from the bar. Highly recommend to anyone who's looking for a new Hawaiian joint.

So you live in Long Beach and crave Gardena Bowl food? Cal Bowl Coffee Shop might be the place... My friend sent me a text to tell me about this place in the bowling alley that cooks up Hawaiian food... really? They just took over in July and since the owner is Chinese Hawaiian she wants to cook those dishes... Anyways the Korean style beef tastes similar to the boneless Kalbi at Side Street Cafe in Honolulu.... of course the portion size is smaller, but the taste is on point... and the chicken katsu (no pork) was really good... along with mac n potato salad... soooo good... and rice... bonus side salad! Oh... they make malasada's to order too! I heard they make Saimin on the weekends... if not, maybe soon if enough people go and ask... They open for breakfast so get the Portuguese Sausage and eggs... throw in some Spam... and get a Loco Moco too! Definitely will be back to support the locals... so I can have a "Gardena Bowl" East! This was a hidden gem the food is made to order and that's a amazing thing . The service on point friendly and ambiance comfortable. Now the wings omg wroth the price , and the loaded fries omg its a burger without the bun. Now curry chicken could use a revamp more chicken bigger pieces more spice a better balance. It was just ok but over all this is great new start at Cal Bowl

Second visit, just as great as the first!Unfortunately, I was so hungry when I arrived that I neglected to take photos. However, today's meals of the Chicken BBQ loaded fries and Loco Moco loaded fries did not disappoint. The Chicken BBQ fries were exactly as advertised - fries, chicken and bbq sauce. Very straightforward and very tasty. The bbq sauce was a sweet sauce, which balanced nicely with the fries. The chicken was like breaded nuggets cut up, which held the sauce nicely! The Loco Moco fries were fantastic, with the cracked eggs, gravy and a ton of ground beef. The toppings were so generous that my girlfriend couldn't even finish (noting she demolished the Irish Pub corned beef fries last time out).We got another visit from Laurie, charming as always. She was kind enough to gift us a couple of the fortune cookies, which served as the birthday dessert for the day. I did ask for some suggestions from the staff, who mentioned a few items I'll try in future visits (the Western cheeseburger received high praise).Absolutely love this place! I'm sitting here after lunch debating placing an order for dinner to take home.
