Went for the Sunday buffet. It was pretty sad. The Mediterranean food was good but they never refilled the buffet and there were no falafels to be found anywhere. The chocolate fountain was not working.

This has always been one of my favorite spots to go to when I reminisced of past visits to Greece. I was happy to hear the Sunday brunch returned, only to find almost all of the food lukewarm, at best. The coffee tasted like something an airline would serve (in styrofoam cups), and we had to waive down the server several times for drink refills. We weren’t even done and the check arrived as if we needed to expedite our departure, yet only being there for around one hour and no guests waiting to be seated. I heard the ownership recently changed and really hope this is not the normal operation going forward.

I should have known when I walked in (4pm not busy) and 4 employees see us standing there and over a minute passes before one says pick a seat.
We were waiting for 2 more people and our server stopped by 3 times trying to get us to order before the half of our party arrived.
We ordered and the last meal came out 5 minutes after the first three ( a couple lamb chops and hummus).
Ordered the 8 piece lamb chop and had to ask for the tanski sauce. I am assuming it was the manager, and she said it only come with the 3 pieces of lamb. One I ordered 8 and two, 3 pieces isn't event an option.
Our service never got better. I think the server gave up on us. Asked for extra lemons, never came. Asked for a refill of soda, took 5 minutes. Only 9 tables in the restaurant with multiple servers.
This place has gone down hill. HUGELY DISSAPOINTED.

After a few bad experiences here a few years ago, we took some time off from George’s. We started eating here again in the past few months and it’s like it’s a whole different place! The restaurant got a makeover, the food tastes much fresher, and the service is absolutely top notch. After an exceptional visit today, we’ll definitely be back more frequently. The manager went out of his way to take care of us and make sure our meal was perfect. I highly recommend the Lakewood location!

Love the place. Every time I'm in Long Beach, George's is a go-to! The main menu has tons of great choices, but the happy hour is hands down, the best you can get! You can make a full meal off all the happy hour choices. The lamb is simply amazing!
