I wanted to come here to see what the hype was all about! Plus I really just like trying new boba shops! My partner's drink was really good, a lychee fruit tea. Unfortunately, my order wasn't a good time, ruining the entire experience for me. If you saw this photo, what type of drink would you think this was? I got a matcha brown sugar latte with oat milk and almond jelly. They messed up my drink the first time by not putting any matcha at all so they took it back to fix it. But the result is still unacceptable. There's barely a light green tint or any matcha flavor. Starbucks is even better, which is not a great comparison. Very disappointing. I understand maybe it was a slow day or workers were tired, but they had the chance to fix it and still made a mistake. To add to that I got a stomachache (!!!) later so it's making me question was there actually oat milk or if there was something else wrong with the drink...? Hopefully if you check them out you catch them on a better day than I did. Because a boba shop getting a matcha latte wrong??? Wild.
I used to really like the place. When they first opened the sesame jelly made me want to go back. The drink quality is good. It’s more for people who like the taste of tea vs the taste of sugary milk tea. Personally I like that you can taste the tea and not just be overloaded with sugar. The sesame jellies have fallen out of favor since their opening. It’s a lot lighter in taste now to the point that you can’t really taste the sesame thru the drink. It was a lot stronger when they first opened and I really enjoyed that. It’s not worth going out of your to get anymore but if I’m in the area, the milk teas are good.
Really good milk tea and unique toppings that are made in shop. The black sesame topping so good and the first time I’ve come across it. Many of the toppings are low in sugar which is nice. If you have a good palette for tea, this is higher quality than almost all the other boba shops. The caffeine content seems higher most milk tea, in that I actually notice it.
Fast service.

We discovered this Tea Shop in Instagram, and drove more than 40 mins to give a try. Decoration is nice, the dark green color looks great, and the instructions make professional.
We ordered 6 cups, Boba tea, green tea latte, black sugar Boba tea, and fruit tea. They were good, but not too special as the Instagram shows.

I visited on a Monday at 2:40pm. There was no one but me as a customer. I ordered a 24oz Taiwanese milk tea with almond pudding and matcha pudding. No boba. It's really pricey! $8.33
The tea was decent (not watered down like other places). I like their almond and matcha puddings.

The best authentic Taiwanese boba!!! Well.if you dont like the taste of strong tea, then this place is not for you. I got the lychee signature, level 2 + boba and aloe = yummiest. The 2nd drink is got Taiwanese classic millk tea. This is the bomb! Tea taste is ON point! Love it. Definitely will be my
favorite place for sure. The good thing is not closed by my house. Otherwise, I will make pit stop daily, lol!

The place looks cool inside but it is very small. The tea options are also pretty common and personally I didn't really like the taste as much as I do at other boba shops. I felt as though it was lacking in taste. However, the servers were very nice. Overall, I'd say it doesn't hurt to come by and experience the place for yourself, but personally I think the one experience is enough for me.

Ordered 2 lychee black tea and it tasted like watered down tea, with no lychee flavoring whatsoever. 2nd time coming. Wouldn’t come back.

So awesome to have had Hechalou catering at our wedding! The team was so responsive and helpful as we figured out the drinks and delivery and the selections were all such a hit with the guests! The drinks were intended to be take home gifts but everyone loved them so much there were few left at the end of the night. Thanks so much Hechalou team! :)

Thank god the hype caused by going viral on TT died down. When I first wanted to come, I happened to be in the area and was craving boba and gmaps led me here. Except then I saw that line. I actually read some of the reviews with people saying they waited over an hour. WHAT.
I don't care if you've fooled yourself into loving it because you needed to justify that you wasted an hour of your life in line in boba because of FOMO from social media, no boba is worth it. And I love this place.
Anywho, since the hype has died down, I can say this place is definitely worth a visit. It gave me time to chat with the cashier about what she liked, what she recommended, if I got this jelly with this tea, does that make sense, etc. She was even kind enough to grab me a sample of the osmanthus jelly (which is now my favorite).
I will say that if you get the osmanthus tea latte...it won't be worth it. Osmanthus is so delicate, the milk will kill the delicacy (lesson learned), so it will mostly taste like watered down milk. The osmanthus jelly does hold up well against the darker Day Dream Black Tea Latte though, which was surprising.
A friend didn't love Hechalou as much as I did, but she ordered Taiwanese milk tea here which...I just wouldn't recommend doing. You can get that almost anywhere else.
The reason I love Hechalou (better than chicha3000) is that their tea quality is better. So order the more unique teas here for the quality and add the jellies to your boba (personal preference is brown sugar boba over honey).

It doesn't taste as good as before, and I told me that I waited for a long time today without eating. I have been waiting there for a long time...The milk tea tastes very watery and not as fragrant as before...

We got the Lime magnolia green tea (3/5 sweetness) and taiwanese milk tea wih honey boba (3/5 sweetness).
Our drinks were okay, nothing special. The milk tea has a very strong tea flavor if you enjoy that. While the lime green tea tasted like lemonade. I would say the drinks are very similar to TP Tea.
We saw other reviews saying there was really long wait times. We went during the afternoon on a weekday so it was not busy, but we don’t think the drinks are is worth a long wait

We came in a little earlier than the opening time. Jason let us in and was so kind to us (since it was really hot). The place is really small so it’s easy to hear the crew at the back. They called us weird for sitting down there (too early in the morning for kindness for them). Thanks again Jason!!!? tea was good!
