The Third Place Barroom and Kitchen had a great ambiance for a date. However, I was not on a date...just dinner with a coworker. Our server Jackie was awesome & the entire staff was friendly & engaged with the customers. I would definitely recommend The Third Place Barroom and Kitchen for a great meal & atmosphere. I highly recommend the Honey Herb Fried Chicken Sandwich...bigger than expected & delectable! So, a great shout out to the kitchen staff.

Called restaurant almost 2 hrs before they closed, told them I was 30 mins away and wanted to place an order and dine in. They said no. I got there an hour and 5 mins before closing, and they said the kitchen was closed. Really poor customer service. Would've left you a fair tip and been thankful, but it's like you actively didn't want a customer.

Congrats on the worse fry's ever, yuck, overcooked and terrible. Service was luke warm, everything average at best :( Why do restaurants use cheap ketchup??? Horrible cheap ketchup, wouldn't come back on that alone! Seriously how much more does Hienz cost? Is it worth losing customers over??? Unfortunately wont be back.

I've enjoyed everything I've had here in 4 visits. The Ancho fish tacos are amazing. Good mussels, burger, steak tartare. The onion tart was tasty, but unfortunately the bottom crust was soggy. Extra bread is too pricey for the amount. These things are forgivable. Great atmosphere

This was my second time dining here. The first time I had a great experience, but the manager and the waitress who served us this visit were not present during that first visit. Unfortunately, this experience was very different.
Before arriving, we spoke with the manager on the phone regarding our reservation. The conversation felt unnecessarily rude and dismissive. He repeatedly used a snappy tone and phrases like “like I said,” which came across as unprofessional. He also told us we needed to arrive within 15 minutes of the reservation or the rest of our party would not be seated with us. While I understand reservation policies, the delivery felt very unfriendly and there was no willingness to work with us even though we were driving out specifically to give them our business.
When members of our party arrived and checked in, they were also told — in a very rude manner — that the table needed to be used by 5:00 PM. At that point it was only 2:45 PM. Most restaurants typically give a polite reminder as the time approaches if they need the table back, but this felt more like we were being put on a timer before we had even been seated.
Once seated, the service continued to be inconsistent. Our waitress asked one side of the table if they wanted dessert but completely forgot to ask the other side, which was awkward. At the end of the meal we requested the check to be split three ways, but she returned with one full check instead and never came back to pick it up from the table.
The food itself was actually very good, which makes the experience even more disappointing because the customer service didn’t match the quality of the kitchen. Unfortunately, because of how we were treated, I would not return again.

The food and and the service is really good I don't personally drink but my wife says it's very good on weekends you might have to do reservations because they do get packed

Food 3-5 - we've had mixed experiences, but mostly very good. There aren't any off menu requests accepted. One cannot replace ingredients. One can only remove specific items from a menu choice. Don't even ask. Apparently the chef's policy is absolute.
Ambiance 4-5 nicely decorated and designed. Has a high end feel that is unusual for the AV.
So why the 3 stars?
One single experience. My wife asked the server (Jackie) if it would be possible to get a side of sauteed mushrooms. She said probably not as it's not permitted by the chef. We asked to speak to the manager to express our disappointment. When Jake showed up, before we uttered a word, he stated that it's just something they don't do, so no to our request. Then he turned and walked away. There was no dialogue. It was a one way conversation. In essence, we and our request were dismissed.
The experience was incredibly off-putting. It was unnecessary to respond to a patron's request in that manner. Totally unacceptable.
I write this review to memorialize the experience for others, because it won't matter to the owner/chef/management. It seems, judging by their total lack of response to other reviews, good or bad, that it really doesn't.
Typical dinners we've had run a tab of $150-200 (including tip). We have visited 1-2 times a month for the past two years. We have brought friends and family on several occasions, generating additional per-visit revenue for the restaurant. Again, this doesn't seem to matter. So, sadly, we're going to have to take a leave of this place. Too bad really.
